Edible Baptism Favor Idea?

For my son's 1st Communion, I made cross shaped sugar cookies on a stick, put them in baggies and tied the baggie shut with a twist tie and attached a tag with my son's name and the date (Best Rolled Sugar Cookie recipe on Allrecipes.com). I couldn't find a pretty cross shaped cookie cutter in the store so I ordered one online. I decorated them with white and light blue icing and added sprinkles to some of them. Every 10 cookies were decorated differently. I then took square shaped vases (about 3-4 inches tall - Michaels or Walmart), put a cone shaped, styrofoam piece in the middle, filled the vase with blue colored stones/jewels. Then I inserted the cookies into the styrofoam, staggering them like a cookie bouquet. I bought balloons which I attached to each vase and used the cookie vases to double as centerpieces on the tables and then let everyone know to take a cookie before they left.

For my daughter I did the same vase idea but instead I made cross shaped, chocolates (white and milk chocolate) on a stick. Bought the cross molds at Hobby Lobby.

Everyone loved both of the items and loved the centerpieces.

I am already thinking of what to do for my next one's 1st Communion which is 2 years away but I think I might make small loaves of bread and put them in pretty baskets as a centerpieces. 1st Communion is about breaking bread so I think it will tie nicely. Good Luck

Baptism petit fours. You could decorate them with blue or pink or white frosting with crosses, bibles, bows, doves, babies initial or name or just simple designs like dots or stripes.

or rice krispie treats that are cross shaped.

How about bite sized cheesecakes (in mini white muffin cups) with a piped fruit cross on top. I would love to do these for my daughters communion. I stink at cheesecake though. You could use lemon to pipe if you want a light color.

you can do rectangles and make them look like open bibles, you can do little cookie people in baptism outfits

How about cake pops with light blue icing decorated with a cross or with the child's name and date in them?

I love all of the ideas on here! As for the two ideas you mentioned, I'd skip the chocolate covered pretzels (assuming you have the time) and do the cross or something religious with some white pearlized detail.

Do they make a Christening Gown cookie cutter? (oftentimes boys wear the gown, too) The dove that Letty and Momma L mentioned sounds like a good idea. The bible sounds nice, but I think it would involve much more detail work to make it look like a bible.

If it's a favor , I would do a cookie so you can put it in a bag to go otherwise you would probably have to get little boxes which would be very expensive. Whatever you do will be great as long as you remember to add your secret ingredient...love =) Have a great day !
