Hi ladies....I have a 2 year old son we have fought with eczema with. We finally got in under control, (found allergies) and now he does good, expect now its getting warm out and I dont allow any of my kids out with out sun block. However my lil guy has broke out this morning where I out it on him yesterday. I feel so bad. So any ideas on sun block? I hope some of you ladies have gone through this and found one that works that does not cause your lil ones to break out. I am going to be running to store today, due to all week its going to be in 80s. Any Advise would be great!!!

What can I do next?

My 3 year old breaks out too very easily. The best sunscreen that has worked on him so far is Neutrogena Baby Free. It is in a white and pink bottle. Aveeno broke him out, so did most others. I haven't tried California baby sunscreen, but have used their baby wash/lotion and he had no adverse effects to it. Unfortunately it's like trial and error, one that works for one child may not work for another. Hope you find something he can tolerate!

I have sensitive skin (not eczema but highly allergic) and have found that I have less problems with organic products. They have little to no chemicals in them that are triggers for sensitive skin. Parabens are a biggie and pthalates too.

Unfortunately, "truly" organic sun blocks are insanely expensive. But I have had luck with California Baby (I use it for me and my kids) and any of the organics sold at Whole Foods. It's about $20 for a small tube. But it is effective and I've had no reactions from it. Hope this helps.

the expensive stuff from whole foods that is zinc or titanium only....
at two, the best sunscreen is actually none - cover him up! a hat, loose long sleeves, and loose pants. It's what we did when ours were younger.

Hi!
Here is what I know: Sun protection is essential and must be WITHOUT toxic ingredients. I use one that have natural minerals that block the sun’s harmful UVB and UVA rays. I will send you a private message with the link.

mommycordell,
My older son had eczema pretty bad when he was your son's age.The doctor prescribed Aveeno.(its pricey,so the script helped)especially because we used the bath and lotion products.I wonder if they make sunscreen.otherwise my sister has sensetive skin and uses clinique products. Its hard because these little guys skin is sooo fragile.

My son could not tolerate most ss at that age b/c of his eczema. What I ended up using was one by neutrogena that was only a physical block-not chemical. It was in a pink and black bottle. He is 8 now and does not get eczema from ss anymore so it is possible to grow out of this.
