Eating Habits (7 Month Old)

My 7 month old baby started to eat less (before she used to drink 6 oz every 3 hrs now she drinks 4 oz every 3 hrs). I reduced solids thinking that she would eat more milk but no, she still wants 4 oz.
I'm really concerned because the pediatrician said that she should drink milk 30,32oz daily. I don't want her to start loosing weight.

Any advice ladies???

What can I do next?

Do not offer any food. Only breastmilk or formula. Baby food has minimal nutrition and formula and breastmilk have total nutrition for babies. Make sure the doc is fully aware of this issue. She may need to have a GI work up or something.

As long as she is having enough wet diapers in a 24 hour period AND she is gaining weight. Don't worry. She may have just finished a growth spurt and now doesn't need as much. Just continue to OFFER but don't force the issue right now.

I would give her more oz in longer span. She should have 24-32 oz at this point. Feeding every three hours is waaaay too often at this age. Here is the schedule my 9 mo old is on:

7am - cereal plus 6oz
10:30 - 6 oz
1:30 - lunch level 2 plus 6 oz
5:00 - dinner level 2 plus 6 oz
7:30 - last feeding 8 oz

If he drinks all, that will be 32 oz but he never does. He always leaves 1-2 oz in every bottle, but he is still within his range. Your 7 mo old would benefit from this schedule. If that's too many solids, just cut out the middle solid and do just bottle for that feeding.

Good luck!

My child did the same thing and it turned out to be a reaction to vaccines. Your doctor will balk at that but BELIEVE me that was how it all started.
Does she have any other symptoms?

The baby should have milk; but is she is not wanting to drink it you could supplement her nutrition with ShakleeBaby multi-vitamins/minerals that gives your baby 23 essetential nutrients.

This retails for $21.45 but you can not put a price on our health. Shaklee offers a 15% discount off retail price if you want to join as a member. Once you visit the site you click on the contact me and ask for product information. I have found that Shaklee has the best products on the market. When my children were 1 and 10 yrs old. The one year old was getting sick monthly. We were going to the pediatrition every single month. I was referred to Shaklee products and bought the multi vitamin/minerals for each of us. I could not afford it at the time but I am glad i tried it. My children are now 15 and 24 and they do not get sick; they are very healthy and i am thankful. I have saved lots of money from not having to go to the doctors and we are all healthy. Hope this helps; blessings always.

I wouldn't worry about it. I agree that if she seems happy, she's gaining weight and she's got wet diapers, then it's fine and I wouldn't force it. She is likely to go through stages of eating less and then eating more again anyway. Plus, the closer she gets to 12 months (and I know it's still far off) the less milk and more food they intake. So although I wouldn't encourage her to take less than that, I think it's fine.
