Easy Wii or PS3 Games for Easily Frustrated 4-Year-old

We have a Wii and a PS3, neither of which my son enjoys much. We have sports games and a Madagascar driving game. I think he dislikes playing these games mostly because he is not good at them and he gets frustrated. I have researched online some, but I'd love to hear from you moms. Can you recommend some games that are super easy "controller-wise"? I'd like for there to be some thinking and problem-solving involved but not too much "button action." I'm even intimidated by all the buttons on the PS3 controller--I miss the original Nintendo--so simple!

Suggestions? Thank you!!!

ETA: video games will only be played occasionally when it is too nasty to go outside! : )

What can I do next?

"Learning With the Pooyoos" on the Wii - you download them through the Wii. There were 2 "episodes" last time I looked, and they are $5 each. They are EASY. There are 2 levels, one lets you just press the appropriate button on the remote, the other lets the kids practice pointing the remote at the screen to click on the answer.

The game only lasts about 15 minutes & nothing has to be saved or anything. Perfect for short attention spans! My daughter loved it.

Nothing is easy controller wise with a Wii. An easy game is Pikmin.

He's kind of young to be into and enjoy video games. My 4 yr olds attention span for video games is about 5 minutes. He'd rather play outside. As far as electronics go he prefers the computer. There are lots of free games your 4 yr old can play on there and a lot of educational ones.

If he's only four, he might not have the fine motor skills necessary to maneuver a controller for a while. If he needs to stay indoors, maybe you could have him do some cutting activities with toddler friendly scissors, mold things with Play-doh, build some paper airplanes or do some simple origami or work on a jigsaw puzzle together.

My daughter became easily frustrated as well with the Wii controllers. She however does really well with Wii Resort and Wii Fit many of the games you don't have to push a bunch of different buttons. And truth be told....and let me say I argued with my husband who is the gamer of the family the Xbox Kinect is awesome for kids!! Their bodies are the controllers.

My son became obsessed with Wii at age 4. there are some games that are very easy that he loves, and some that got played with once and then never resurfaced. He loves Wii sports and sports resorts. I think the bowling is his favorite but he likes the other games too. He also loves the games on Wii fit and Just Dance Kids.

My son is 9, but still has trouble with the wii controller. He plays Mariokart with a Gamecube controller instead of the wii remote. He also tried it with Dance Dance Revolution- kinda defeats the purpose of the game.

Ooh sonic the hedgehog from playstation network! And I'm sure you can find other games or even demos for him that he might like. Sometimes they have a preview of the game and most of the time demos are free!!
I would recommend Little Big Planet but you say he gets frustrated easily and maybe wouldn't get the button action without some help
I know personally because my DH lil sister is 5 and can get a bit frustrated wit some games and needs help but she prefers my ps3 to her brothers xbox says the controller is too big and weird lol
So look in the playsttion store and see if anything interests him
Good luck
