White sweatshirt, brown foot print in the middle, red hand print on each side, red fuzzy nose and goggle eyes for Roudolph.
Has anyone done a really easy Christmas craft for 2 yr olds? I need to come up with a simple craft for my daughters Christmas party at school. TIA!
White sweatshirt, brown foot print in the middle, red hand print on each side, red fuzzy nose and goggle eyes for Roudolph.
Make edible Christmas trees -- using sugar cones, frost them with green icing (buy white and use green food coloring), then decorate with coconut flakes, m&ms, sprinkles, etc.
Make pretty refrigerator magnets. Buy a big bag of clear glass "stones" from a craft store. They need to have one flat side. Get some Christmas clip art (you can print some out on the computer) with Santa, holly leaves, trees, angels, etc. Make sure the pictures are small enough to fit on the flat side of the stones. Cut out the pictures in advance, and the day of the party, have the children glue the pictures to the stones with clear glue so that the picture shows through the curved side. This will magnify the picture a bit, and it also holds the light. Then glue a magnet to the back.
It sounds a bit complicated, but all you are having the kids do is glue a picture and then glue on a magnet. The finished product is amazing.
Make mini Christmas Trees - buy pine cones. Have the kids roll the pine cones in glue then red or green glitter and top with a star cut out from construction paper.
Or Hand-print Reindeer Antler Hat - trace two hands onto construction paper or foam. Cut 3" band to fit around kid's head. Attach the two hands as the antlers onto the headband. the kids can decorate the antlers, before attaching them, with glitter or stickers.
Or make Santa's plate - buy paper plates and have kids decorate them with stickers, paint, pens, glitter, etc.
Good luck and have fun!
Check out Oriental Trading Co. for great sticker crafts. We got one of a nativity scene that the kids put on a sheet of construction paper. I'm sure they have others. If you are okay with messy...parents love handprints. You could do green then decorate with little stickers or glitter. Or...brown, then decorate it to look like Rudolph. Red pom-pom nose, eyes...fingers are antlers. Do it on hand-size pieces of circle cardstock. Hole punch and run Christmas ribbon through for ornament.
plastic drink lids with cut outs from magazines/old xmas cards (the adult pre cuts the pics) and glitter glued on (the clear whitish kind looks great since you can still see the pic under the glitter) feed yarn thru the straw hole to hang, and you have ornaments. by the way, what does TIA mean please?
Draw a snowman (just 2 circles) and let them glue on cotton balls. Cut out eyes, nose, buttons, etc to decorate with.
try making ornaments with pipecleaners and yarn!
(to the other poster: TIA is Thanks in advance)
One other idea is a reindeer - my son did one at school last year. The face is the outline of a foot - in a light brown (if there is time you could do their foot). The antlers are from outlines of the hands in a different shad of paper(again - can do their hands if there is time). Just glue on eyes, nose and a mouth and you are done. Fairly simple and I like having the memory of him when he was young.
Good luck
