Hi, Just curious what some of you moms or dads are giving your toddler for Easter? Do you make baskets? and what do you put inside? I was thinking maybe a sand pail and shovel instead of the basket but not sure? Any ideas?

What can I do next?

For my son's first Easter, he was only 17 days old, so I was really excited to put together his Easter basket last year, because he was a little over 12 months. I got him these eggs:

At 24 months, he still loves them! They are so cute!

This year, for his basket, I got him some Fisher Price Easter themed Little People, A Curious George "Earth Day" DVD, Easter themed Playskool Wheel Pals, Bubbles, Chalk, and a Pinwheel. Target has some really precious Easter items out right now. Best of luck! :)

I agree, Target has some great stuff. Also, I like to fill the plastic eggs with animal crackers instead of candy for that age. Heck, my boys are much older now, and I still do that. My baby girl won't be quite old enough this year, but she'll get a small basket. The shovel and pail idea is a good one, too.

we put small squishy toys (balls for the pool), gold fish, yougart bites and other toddler friendly things. beware of the marshmellow eggs and candys they are a choaking hazzard. we also put some money in a few eggs. finding that even that young they enjoy putting money into the bank. baskets are a tricky/trippy thing. i think a sand pail would do alright but its smaller bottom and wider top will most likely tip over. a fat bottom non tappered and not long handle works best for toddler baskets. take the shovel out before your little one gets it and plays with the shovel instead of hunting eggs. happy easter!

We will do baskets (our son is 3 and daughter is 18 months) - but not with loads of candy.
We went to Party City and got pails for 99 cents, and then a mini Dora doll for my daughter, markers for my son, a book from Target's dollar area for each, a couple of eggs each with some fruity candy, and mini bags of Goldfish and carrots.
We are going to try a hunt in the backyard for the eggs. We will see how that goes over. :)

Have Fun!
