Bunny must be solid, no fun biting the ears off a hollow bunny.
Peeps, slightly stale. :)
Sorry that is all I have, I am happy with just the bunny.
If you do Easter baskets for your kids, what items MUST you have for them?
I like to get the
*Starburst Jellybeans
*Reeses Peanut Butter eggs
*small foil covered eggs (good chocolate ones!)
*a large milk chocolate rabbit (preferably a sitting, big-eared bunny, don't like the standing bunnies at all
*a few smaller chocolate pieces that "apply" (like a chocolate baseball player, etc)
•a white chocolate item like a cross
•some novelty things like M&Ms eggs, some coconut/jelly bean nests, etc.
To me, those are the classic items that I remember from my childhood.
What are your Easter basket "must haves"?
I can't believe I forgot to mention the PEEPS!!!

Jelly beans and a tooth brush. Honestly.
All other items will vary, but there will always be those two things. We try to do a variety of sweet and non-sweet/non-food items too.
Hi O.!
I have for YEARS done a kite and 'bubbles' and side walk chalk at easter for my kiddos...along with all of the delicious chocolate!! And jelly beans.
I mailed a package to my eldest son this year (He will not be home...*sniff*)...
But the only thing he did not get was a kite! lol
Could not figure how to wrap it!
best luck!!

I don't do baskets (I grew up in Europe so we didn't have this custom), but what I wanted to say is that, whatever you choose to put in them, check the ingredients of the candies. Most of the jellybeans have all kinds of garbage in them...artificial flavor, color, high corn syrup,,Chocolate is usually the safest, but even that, it depends on the maker. I wouldn't want to eat something that has "castoreum"(secretion from the anal glands of beavers).
Happy Easter everyone!
stuffed animal bunny, for sure
My only must have for my son's easter basket is anything not chocolate or candy. He is only 3 and has gastroparesis, so he cannot have fat. So forget Easter candy or Halloween candy. But he does still get a basket. In it will be a DVD of his favorite cartoon, a stuffed bunny (small) and a few inexpensive toys (he loves erasers and stickers).
I put very similar items in my 2 1/2 year old son's Easter basket too! I also like include, a book about bunnies or Easter, some Play-Doh, bubbles, a new movie and other smaller toys. I try to put in a variety of candy-though not too much because he will want to eat all of it in O. sitting!! The Reese's peanut butter eggs are a must!! :)
*chocolate bunny (added a choc duck this yr)
*choc kisses
*Reese's peanut butter egg
*for little O.: bubbles, sidewalk chalk, Hot Wheel car, stuffed bunny, coloring book & crayons
*for girl teen: earrings, necklace, fuzzy socks, frame for her room
Malted chocolate covered eggs.. Ans I love those terrible individually wrapped marshmallow bunnies.. My husband says they remind him of sweet chalk!
Of course the chocolate bunny.
A stuffed bunny
a small game
bubbles
crayons
A chocolate bunny
peeps
assorted novelty candies, like russell stover chocolate eggs, peanut butter eggs
a toothbrush
About the only "must have" is some sort of chocolate Easter Bunny. At this age, she gets a very small O.. I have thus far also gotten her a small stuffed bunny toy, too. She specifically asked for O. this year. I prefer the Starburst jellybeans, too. Yum!
I'm severely allergic to nuts, so we can't have most chocolate in the house. We do have Andes mints, because they aren't manufactured with nuts. We have hard candies, jelly beans, homemade baked goods, and that's it.
Mine are similar to yours except I'm not doing the large chocolate bunnies anymore. My kids don't really like eating them and they end up just sitting in the cupboard. I'm doing smaller foil nestle crunch bunnies instead.
we had hard boiled colored eggs, always.
Kisses
Peeps
CRAPPY milk chocolate tin foil eggs
some sort of easter themed gift
JELLY BEANS... GOURMET
and what ever was on sale and in bulk lol I wouldnt say that is what is in my kids basket... though I dont do anything for Easter anymore, but we celebrate with a basket of goodies for my kids, and we take them on public egg hunts.
There has to be a chocolate bunny! I used to put in Peeps, but they don't like them any more than I ever did, so I didn't get them this year -even though they are a classic.
Rain-Blo easter egg gum is my thing. I used to love it in my basket, and I put it in the boys' baskets now that they're old enough for gum!
My boys love fruity, gummy stuff, so I get some Starburst, jelly beans and I found Sweet Tart gummy bunnies that should be a big hit. A few Reese's chocolate foil-covered eggs and a few Cadbury's small little caramel eggs.
Other than candy - small toys, art supplies, books and any outdoorsy stuff they may have been wanting or needing like sunglasses or water guns. I think the bunny is bringing them both O. of the "bug vacuums" this year since they're both really into bugs lately.
From my childhood, it was a coconut egg, chocolate bunny and Russell Stover jelly beans. I still try to find the jelly beans, although they're hard to find (and impossible at other times of the year). Sometimes I have to settle for other fruit pectin jelly beans :(
My kids won't eat a whole bunny, so we usually skip that for now (although we'll try again when they're older). They do get Reese's eggs and Almond Joy eggs, in addition to jelly beans. This year the O. year old is getting some yummy fruit snacks in hers :) Other stuff varies from year to year...
