My daughter is 10 months old and I am looking for a very safe and hygenic place to get her ears pierced. Any recommendations on this and the best way to care for it is appreciated.
I would suggest La Lobe.... my mom had hers done there and so did I ... I plan on taking my girls there.... they actually numb the ear lobe so you don't feel anything. There is also not that popping sound from the gun either. SOOO much better in my opinion. It is a little more expensive but WELL worth the price... Good luck.
I would check your pediatrician's office - I know the office where I take my daughter does ear piercings. Can't get much more hygenic than that!

This is a personal decision...so do it if you really want to! Don't let anyone make you feel bad for it!
The safest way to care for it is not to do it at all. I know that, depending on your culture of origin, this appears to be an attractive thing to do, but I'm sure that your baby is beautiful without the ornamentation.
I'm with Rebecca. Definitely check out the pediatrician's. TLC Pediatrics with Dr Dan Moulton in Allen does it. They do it there because of the hygiene issue. No disrespect to the one who had it done at Claire's, but statistically places you can get piercings at the mall are not the most hygenic. They also don't recommend using the types of earrings that are used at places like Claire's. The charge for ear piercing there is $50. Their phone number is ###-###-####.
I actually posted a similar post to this when my daughter was about 6 months old... I received several people recommending La Lobe in preston center but they only did piercing on I think Tues. & Sat(maybe) and when we went the cheapest earrings where about $50.00 for simple stainless steal studs. I ended up several months later (then 13mo) stoping in the Claire's at the Galleria on a whim and watched the manager do two babies infront of us. My husband finaly talked me into doing it there and I think the hardest part for my daughter was that they made me hold head and hands but it was done in seconds and she might have cried for about 2 minutes and they have been perfect ever since.
