Sally's, Beautyco, any place that sells jewelry is pretty much going to have an ear piercing place. I'd call around or ask my friends where they got their kiddo's done and if they were happy.
What is the aftermath of this ? Are the ears sore ? Does it hurt to sleep in the ear-rings ? Where do you go to get it done ? Peditrcian ?
She is 13 yrs old.

We actually got my DD's done at Walmart. :/ lol. Not what I planned, but after several months of my husband waffling about actually taking her to get it done where I wanted I just went for it when we were grocery shopping.
I wanted to take her to a tattoo/piercing parlor, because they are held to MUCH higher sanitation standards than your typical piercing station. (Claire's, Piercing Pagoda, etc.) Some pediatrician a are willing to do it, some aren't... So you can definitely ask!
She was 8 months old. She cried for about 10 seconds, then got over it. MUCH less pain than getting her immunizations. She never noticed them after that.
Just make sure you take good care of them. Follow the instructions included with the ear care solution (and by the piercer...) and make sure to spin them every time you clean them.
-as for people who are against piercing babies' ears, that is their opinion, and they have the right to it. I personally have never met anyone who had their ears pierced as a baby and felt bitter about it. My DD is now 3 yo, and she likes picking out earrings to wear and always gets a kick out of seeing a different set in. (for the most part, she still wears the piercing earrings) My ears were pierced at 6 months old, and I always LOVED picking out earrings when I was little. Now, I only wear them for special occasions. Even if you are just getting them pierced for no more reason than they look cute, that is your prerogative.
What age are you talking about? I personally don't understand the rush to pierce little girls' ears. It seems like an unnecessary expense and hassle, and one more thing kids add to their gift wish lists.
I think there is a huge difference in health regulations and enforcement, and I also think there's a difference in metal sensitivities particularly in kids, but in a lot of people (along with food allergies and behavioral issues which are on a huge increase due to food quality decline). So adding that into the mix makes it hard with kids - did they fiddle with the earring? Did they get an infection? Is it a reaction to metal?
In general, there is not much sensitivity in the earlobes which is why it's the most common piercing site. The earlobe is fairly flexible so when you sleep it kind of gets pushed into a better position. But kids who get an irritation are going to absently play with it during the day or when half asleep, so that can be a factor in whether piercing is successful or not.
Some pediatricians do it in order to a) have an additional income source and b) make sure it's done under sterile conditions. Every mall and discount store has kiosks or departments that do it. Most everyone who sells jewelry has someone who can do it.
I think you should figure out why you want it done and what it's worth to you. For me, there's no reason not to wait until at least age 10. I think there may be some cultures in which ear piercing has more significance but other than that I don't see why younger kids need it at all.
We used a piercer who used a needle instead of a gun. The needle is sharp, not blunt like the back of the earring, and pierces the tissue instead of crushing it. The studio was very clean, and everything used in the piercing was sterile and single-use. They used stainless steel rings in the new holes so they could turn and any swelling wouldn't have an earring back in the way. I definitely recommend a professional piercer.
my 6 year old and 4 year old just had it done on Sunday. No problems yet. We had it done at Claires. They used the gun and did it one at a time. They said ouch, it was red for a day. They slept ok, Fine now. They have a little problem getting dressed cause they have to be more careful with their shirts going over their heads.
Be sure to clean them daily and after swimming. I had mine done at 13 and had so many allergic reactions that I can no longer wear any kinds of earrings. I had it done at the doctors with a needle. The only thing I can wear with only a minor reaction, is gold posts. No other mixed or pure metal otherwise my ears swell up and get infections.
My daughter got her ears peirced when she was 15 months old. She is thankful we did it when she was a baby and doesn't remember it. I would have done it earlier if my husband had been on board. My daughter got her second holes when she was 9, she is now 10.
My sister's daughter is 4 and they aren't done yet, but she regrets not doing it when she was a baby.
Yes, the ears are sore for a little while after and that's it, should last hours or all day. It should not hurt to sleep in earrings. I take mine out because I prefer to, but my daughter prefers to sleep with them in...to each their own. We got her first holes at Claires and her second holes at ICING.
We have had no issues with any of ours after piercing. While cartilage piercing can be uncomfortable to sleep in lob piercing usually don't cause much discomfort after the first few moments, but they may be tender the first day. I have not had any issues with mine (done on various parts of my body) nor have my boys had any issues with one exception, when my son tried to stretch his holes out they got infected and we had to let them close. He has since had them re-peirced with no issues. My other son has had his done since he was 3 and has never had issues, even after going months without wearing earrings and forcing them back in himself.
All our ear piercing have been done at Clairs with the little gun. body ones of course you need to go to a licensed piercer at a shop.
My daughter's got their ears pierced at the mall. ( Piercing Pagoda) They pierced both ears at the same time. Only hurts for seconds... No problems sleeping in the earrings.
I got my daughters done when she was 3 months old at piercing pagoda. They did both at the same time, and she didn't even make a peep. She sat there smiling at her big brother the whole time😊 She doesn't mess with them, never had infections or any issues. I had mine done when I was only a few days old, I now have 8 holes in each ear.
How old is your child? Is she requesting this or do you just want to pierce her ears?
We waited until daughter wanted them around age 10 and she had issues with being allergic to almost everything. She is now 18 and only wears earrings if there is a special occasion.
I got mine done at age 10 as well. Never had an issue and mine was done by a salon owner with a needle, ice and cork.
My daughter is 10.
She got her ears pierced this summer.
No, it does not hurt.
She said it did not hurt.
She slept fine.
She takes care of it herself per the instructions she got.
She got her's done at our local Merle Norman place.
And that is where her good friend got her's done too.
Others got their ears pierced from places like Claire's.
