Try chiropractic care, I've seen it work many, many times!
My son has had an ear infection for about 2 weeks now. We had to change his meds in the middle due to an allergic reaction to the amoxaciln, so i am not sure if he had meds long enough to make an impact. about 4 days ago i took him back for a follow up and the dr said its still there but improving. How long should I wait before i take him back for the same thing?
He finished his meds about 3 days ago. Took him back to the dr and he said the infection is gone he just has extra fluid in his ears. The dr wants to wait 2 months and see if with time and anti in-inflammatory meds it goes away. But if not he is going to get tubes in his ears

definatley finishe the new antibiotic .. if hes stil got the infection after that definatley bring him back.. either the medicine isnt working or its the wrong medicine for the problem
I would wait until he is done with the medication or if the fever or symptoms havent broken give them a call to see if they want to see him. Good luck, hope he starts to feel better soon.
I don't know how old your son is or how many times he has had to take antibiotics. My son recently turned 3 and they gave him Amoxicylan for pneumonia. After a few days it wasn't doing anything so I took him in again. My suspicion was that since he has had that same med 3 times already, and it isn't very strong to begin with, it wasn't working. In my opinion 2 weeks is way too long for an ear infection not to clear up especially with antibiotics, so I would look into what Jodi said about yeast. I also have a friend who's an ND who says you can mix garlic cloves with olive oil and that is an excellent remedy for ear infections. Haven't tried it yet since it has been a long time since he had one. Good luck!
Does the doctor have him scheduled for a follow up again? Personally I would finish the second antibiotic and if he is still not well than I would take him back.
