Oreck's are the best...especially if you have tennis elbow or hav to vacuum steps a lot. I'm a house cleaner and love mine.
Hi. I have a 6 month old son and two cats. I'm looking for a good vacuum cleaner. I was wondering if anybody has an infinity and would you recommend it over the Dyson? I would love a Dyson but money is tight right now. My son is always on the floor and starting to scoot. I want to make sure all the cat hair is out of his way. PLEASE HELP me decide. Thank you!

We have had our Dyson for 2 years now. I would not trade it in for the world! Before the dyson, we had a Hoover and it conked out on us after only one year. It kept clogging and it would cost us $20 each month to get it unclogged. We decided on the Dyson and it picks up our dog's hair and we brush our carpet and hardwoods with it. We have moved a few times and got new carpet and the Dyson even picked up those carpet staples (yikes!) and geuss what? It did not break, get clogged or stutter when running over them. (I didnt realize those boogers were in the new carpet!!).
You can get a Dyson from several places and some of them accept coupons for them too. One idea is at Linens N Things. Sometimes they will take their 20% off coupons on them, or if you know anyone who works there you can get a Family/Friends coupon and that works towards the Dyson. You can apply for a c'card and get the discount on it too.
Good luck. It is hard to figure out which to do. Maybe do a google search on your last few favorites and see what other consumers have said/think.
Hi,
I work in a flooring store, and I've heard an industry rumor that carpet companies are thinking about putting warranty exclusions on carpet that is vacuumed with Dyson vacuums. Apparently, the suction is too good and is damaging the carpet. Just an industry rumor, so far.
B.,
My husband and I really wanted a Dyson when our daughter started crawling but the pricetag was too much for us. We went to walmart and bought the Hoover Fusion, which uses the exact same technology as the Dyson, and it empties the same easy way too. It was less than half the price and it works really well. We have a beagle and his short little hairs stick to everything! When I vacuum a floor that doesn't even look that bad, I can't believe how much pet hair and stuff comes out!
Here is the link, it is only 98 dollars right now.

Good luck with the little mover and shaker!
We purchased a Dyson (pet) before my daughter was born, love it love it love it! We have one cat and we were finding hair all over the place, it picks up that and dust. It is expensive, you just have to find the good deals. We purchased ours at best buy and was able to do it interest free for 24 months. It ended up being $25 a month. One of the best investments we have made. Good luck with your decision, there are so many good vacuum cleaners out there.
I am not familiar with the Infinity, sorry. Here's what I can say about the Dyson-
We have a 2 year old and a long haired dog.
I no longer wanted my heavy 20-year-old hand-me-down Kirby.
I researched many models online.
I wanted a Dyson but not the $500 bill that went with it.
I found a refurbished one at www.abcvacuum.com for $349, no MN Sales Tax, no shipping costs, and fast shipping. And it came with a free toy sized Dyson that my son absolutely loves that has spinning colored things that go around when he turns his on and the hose connector even works to pick up small pieces of paper. Now we each have one. I think the toy size special may have expired but there is no harm in inquiring if you do consider them.
There customer service was incredible and I did get a call from them and did have a great experience.
I checked them out on the BB before I proceeded.
Refurbished comes with a shorter warranty than new but I was ok with that aspect of the difference.
I REALLY like my Dyson. I love the no-bag style. It is the first and only vacuum I have owned or borrowed that has gotten the pet hair off our floor rugs.
I wish I would have broken down and done something sooner because it has made my life easier and cleaner.
Good luck.

We borrowed our friends Dyson to see what all the hype was about. I dont know if we used it wrong, but it did not work for us. We would run over the same piece of dirt 3 or 4 times and it wouldnt pick it up. We ended up buying a Hoover Fusion at Sams Club. I can't remember how much we paid but it was worth it. The only complaint I have is that part of the plastic attachment holders just snapped off. The same thing happened with our old Hoover too. Its a great vacuum though (with 2 dogs, a cat and 2 kids)
my vaccuumm just conked out on me a couple of months ago, and I have 3 toddlers so had to get a vacuum fast as they can sure make a mess. We didn;t want to spend a ton of money either so I went for the Bissell Pet Pro (I think its called, it has a special attachment just for pet hair) although we don't have pets I am really impressed with how well it picks stuff up, 3 toddlers make up for any pets anyways so I am sure I have tested it adequatly. I really really like it, alot better than the Dirt Devil we had prior and the cost was under $200. Don't know if you want to go that cheap but just wanted to send you out my opinion just to give you the option. I bought mine at Target and they had a deal to get a $20 gift card with purchase so that made the deal even sweeter. Happy Shopping

I wouldn't buy either I bought a bissel vacumn and love it and my sister has a dyson and she actually likes how mine works more. You can get them at best buy for a decent price and it has the middle removable canister for doing the stairs.if you have any more questions just ask.
I have the Dyson Animal and love it so much. I dont know how the infinity works yet. I sell vacuums at a major chain and we rely on customer comments for our advice. So far we havent had any comments on the infinity, but the Dyson has nothing but good comments too. I know they are expensive. I am a mom with cats too, and I say its worth the money.
We actually looked at both vacuum cleaners recently, and ended up purchasing the Dyson Animal. We have two cats and a short-haired dog, and the first time I used the Animal three weeks ago, I was STUNNED at what came out of our carpets and off of our laminate floors. Yes, they are quite pricey, but if you can work it out, I highly reccomend the Dyson. It even picked up the tiny little grains of cat litter that I used to have to sweep up before vacuuming.
I wouldn't trade my Dyson pet vac for the world!! It's the best thing ever. We have a cat and this thing is simply AMAZING. I can't believe the stuff this thing picks up! Good luck w/ your choice!
