I need some place to take a bakers dozen of baby ducks ASAP. They are about a day or two old. The momma keeps coming back to our pool. If I don't get them out and gone they will die b/c of the chlorine. If you know some one that could take them tomorrow that would be a BIG help! Thanks!!
I called Dallas Animal control and they don't come and get them. There is only one bird refuge and it's over an hour away. Any other suggestions?

My girlfriend had that happen to her, she called either spca or th Humane Society and they came and got them from her pool. Call the city, they will help you.
A friend who lived near a pond had that happen. Poor babies, momma leads them to the water, but can't lead them back out. She is probably franic!
Animal control is your answer. the will take tem to a natural water source.
Is there a pond within walking distance from your home? I think the best thing is to keep the momma and babies together. If you could get the babies all in a box when mom is around and walk them to a pond/lake and release them, it would be best for them and you. I guess, on the other hand, you could buy a baby pool and fill it with fresh water and put it somewhere away from the big pool and transfer them there, that would work too. If you separate them from momma, someone will have to handfeed all those babies- better to leave it up to momma to raise them to weaning. Just a thought. If you need help, I might be able to come to you and help. I'm in McKinney. Let me know.
