I went to the gyno a week ago to see if anything was wrong. Everything came back normal. No STD's, no yeast infection. But my vagina still hurts. It was itchy but now it just feels super dry. I am only 33 and dont know what is going on. I did start taking loestrin fe birth control about a month ago, but that was my only change. No new soaps or anything. Its been over month since ive had intercourse.
Everytime i google it, it goes to menopause.
My doctor said i could use some creams, but ugh i just dont want to. I want my body to work how its supose to.
Anyone else ever have this problem? Wht did you do? Any suggestions of something that may be causeing it that im not thinking of?

What can I do next?

When I was using that birth control, the same thing happened to me. I went to the doctor and they couldn't find anything wring with me and no where did it mention that side effect. Once I switched, it slowly went away. Good luck!

It's the birth control pills. I'm surprised the doctor didn't talk about that with you. Seems like he's not interested in helping you.

I would try the creams, and if that doesn't work, go off the pill. There's no point in using BC if you're too dry to have sex. Intercourse will cause you to tear and get infected, so you need to fix the problem with your vaginal walls.

So sorry.

Just because THEY say it isn't a side effect of the pill, doesn't mean it isn't. Every body reacts differently - trust yours.

It's the pills. I'd switch my GYN, he/she seems like he/she has no bedside manner. If he is male, get yourself a female GYN if you can. Yes, I'm sexist when it comes to GYN's, sorry. What does a man know about my woman symptoms......I never got sympathy or understanding from male Dr's.....(TMI, sorry). Give lubricants like, Astroglide & KY jelly a try, don't glob on, just a dab. Also try Moisturizers like Replens and Lubrin. Wear pure cotton undies....Hanes, Fruit of the loom, Gap....read the labels and make sure. See if you're body goes back to normal once off the pill. Lack of sex may also be contributing to the vaginal dryness. I think we'd all like our bodies to work as they should, but unfortunately, that's not always the case. Good Luck.

A few things come to mind in regards to your situation.. One, you mention that you haven't tried new soaps.. However, do keep in mind that ANY soap can eventually disturb the ph balance of one's skin....Also, if your shower/bath water is too hot, that will also dry out the skin .. Additionally, when taking the pill, depending upon the ratios of Estrogen to Progesterone, could be that the added Progesterone is what is drying you out.. Why do I say this.. Consider this... you have the Estrogen side of your cycle (the Follicular) and then the Progesterone/Luteal phase (ovulation until onset of period) that said.. during the luteal phase, our bodies heat up (in the event we were to become pregnant) it's this phase of our cycle that makes things all nice and warm for a possible baby... it's what grow the uterine wall... Ever notice that about a week before your period, you feel warmer and you might perspire a bit more than during the Follicular phase.. Well this added warmth can dry out one's skin... Moreover, during the luteal phase, our vaginal area becomes more alkaline... (another reason why women will sometimes have yeast/vaginitis right before your period starts... Lastly, due to the dyes used in tampons/pads, those things can definitely dry out the area.. your best bet until the dryness goes away.. .luke warm baths and showers... NO soaps (don't even let shampoo trickle down when you rinse your hair) switch to cotton underwear, drink more water and IF you do need some relief and this will sound weird... PURE coconut oil... this way, there are no chemicals added to your skin .. just dab and go :) so to speak.. but seriously, it's a good moisturizer without causing more problems... if this doesn't work, consider that the pill could be the true culprit...

You said you started taking a certain kind of birth control then jumped to something else. So my thinking is, perhaps that is not the birth control for you. Since that was your only change, perhaps you might try a different birth control. Maybe also, get some new underwear, sometimes lacy or satiny underwear goof everything up because you are still harboring some sweaty bacteria down there ( sorry tmi) and if you wear thongs, well, eeeek, cute as they are I think yeast infection all the way and ouchouch. Good luck!

I am in meneopause and sometimes have dryness of the skin on the outside of the vagina and also my nipples. My ObGym recommended: Crisco! She said it has the least amount of additives since it is pure vegetable oil, and other creams often have stuff in them that you could have a reaction to. I bought the smallest container possible (still huge) and put a little bit in an old 35mm film canister for in my purse. At home I can leave the Crisco jar under the sink! Since not all of it absorbs I wear a pantyliner when I use the crisco, and a bit of soft tissue over my nipples inside my bra.
But I would suggest changing pills. I was on the pill in my 20's without any problems then tried it again after my last daughter and ended up with swollen and sore joints. Went off the pill and the pain went away. There are so many varieties of pills I would discuss your symptoms so the doctor can recommend which birth control would be best for you.

I a, 30 and I have been having the same issue. I am 37 weeks pregnant though so I think mine is hormone related. Maybe it is your new pill? Did you ask the gyno if they was a possible cause? My dr told me to try using a hair dryer on low/cool to dry off down there after a shower and to use a diaper cream with zinc if the irritation was too much. (I did not use the cream, I didn't like the idea either.) As for the dryness, would something like replenish help? I think that is what its called. I've seen it at Target and Walmart with all the "women products". Its supposed to help relieve vaginal dryness. If you are extremely dry, that alone can cause pain and discomfort. Hope you can figure something out! :)

I get this sometimes. I get super dry and it causes pain. Like dry (mouth) lips, those downstairs lips need to stay moist. I keep some lubrication on it for a few days and wear loose cotton panties and it usually feels better. Hope that helps!

Not knowing details I will just recommend some things to look into.
Wear cotton panties. They are the best for preventing irritation. If it's been hot and you've been sweating you can get rubbing and irritation. I will sometimes get that. Honestly I will put on some diaper cream (Triple Paste does not smell or Butt Paste has a nice smell that is like lotion so you won't smell like a baby diaper) for a couple days and it clears it right up. Think heat rash.
The birth control pill can mess with your balance of hormones which is partly responsible for keeping things moist. You really may need to change pills or you may have to stop taking them and find another form of birth control. It could also be causing you to react to soaps and detergents that you didn't have problems with before but because of the changed in your body from the pill you may be having problems now. Switch to detergents that are free of dyes and fragarance. Skip the dryer sheets and fabric softeners, especially on your panties. Make sure you aren't using too much detergent. If it's not rinsing out all the way, over time it will build up and cause irritation.
