I always use FOLEX to remove hard stains and dried up food, or gum. You can find it at walmart target in the cleaning section. Its always hard to find, and or in the bottom row. VERY CHEAP but POWERFUL.
Tip....it cost around $4.00 to $6.oo
and always let it soak on the stain or food for about five mins or longer. It almost seems to suck it up from the HOPE THIS WORKS FOR YOU...GOOD LUCK!!!

A., what color is the couch, and what color is the marker? I work for Fiber-Seal, and those are things that the techs would want to know. I've seen them work miracles, but would need to have more specifics. Call me at ###-###-#### if you would like me to come out to see what we could do.

Also, I don't recommend oxygynated cleaners, because they act like bleach. Eventually they will leave a white spot on the area that they were used on, since the bleaching action continues after you have blotted them up. Good luck!

My daughter did our cream colored rug. When it happened to me I searched the internet and found the following ideas: baby wipes, rubbing alcohol, Murphy's wood soap. I ended up using baby wipes and rubbing alcohol and then a rented carpet cleaner. Good luck!

Try Spot Shot on the carpet especially. When my son was a toddler, he used hot pink marker on our white enamel bathroom cabinets. I used Fantastik and a lot of elbow grease on those. The sofa might need a professional to get it out of the microsuede.

Good luck

Gotta love our creative children! I am so sorry. We would be happy to come help you with your marker problem. I own Cornerstone Chem-Dry and we can help! My website is www.co2cleaners.com and my email is ____@____.com and office number is ###-###-####. I would be really careful with trying alcohol or any products like that on your microsuede and on your carpet as alcohol can delaminate the carpet (separate it from it's backing - which can not be fixed). ANyway, we would love to help you! Mention you got us from Mamasource and we will offer you our best specials! Have a great day! Let us know how it turns out!

Alcohol is the best thing for dry erase markers and it gets dry erase marker off of anything but leather and satin : ( You could try bleaching the area and then dying it?...probably best to contact someone who restores/cleans furniture professionally.

Purell....the hand sanitizer stuff! It works wonders! I've used it to get ink out of shirts, marker & blood out of carpet, sharpie off of varnished kitchen cabinets, etc. It works great! We actually buy it in the biggest container and use it to remove almost every kind of stain on just about every kind material.

The only spot remover I use on my microsuede couch and carpet is OxyClean. Just mix a little in some warm water and soak the area. It will usually change the color of the marker and then if you keep soaking it, it will just disappear. The best thing is...you don't have to scrub it! Good Luck!

OUCH! TRy the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (max strength) on the doors. The carpet and couch are going to be SUPER tough. My son did this on our carpet too and I sprayed dry erase board cleaning solution on it and did my best to scrub it out. I can still see it, but it is much less obvious. I hope some other mom's have ideas! good luck!

My daughter did the same thing to her new Gymboree dress. I googled it and found that Murphy's Oil Soap would get it out. It took 45 minutes of scrubbing, it finally came clean. Not sure how it would work on a couch, but try to google it and see what you can find. Also, I threw away all my dry erase markers after that- since they are not washable! Fooey makes washable dry erase markers and you can buy them at Walmart. Good luck!

Magic Eraser works wonders. I've used it on our couch (also microsuede), carpet and walls. Try a small piece first to be sure it's not too rough for your surface. With a little bit of elbow grease, that stuff is great!

I found a product called Little Effort that is incredible. I bought it from a door to door sales guy when I owned a store front. He demo'd and I was floored. It cleans anything washable. I had crayons on a microsuede couch in my lobby and I was sure it was ruined. He put some on a rag, scubbed, let dry and it was GONE! It is so safe, too, that it is touted as being accepted by the USDA as a floor and wall cleaner in food operations. The number on the bottle is 800-259-6909.
The only other thing that is supposed to work on lots and lots is WD-40, but it leaves a strong smell. Good luck! I hope this does help you.

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but you are out of luck! My 2 year old did the exact same thing to our couch. I tried everything...I called the marker company for their opinion and they suggested rubbing alcohol and dab...I did and it brought it to the surface, but not out. We eventually had it professionally cleaned and it still did not come out. So if you get lucky and find something please let me know!!!!! Good luck, I feel your pain.
