I am very serious about my mascara! I only use maybelline and its volume express or falsies. You will have the most delicious lashes!
Hello! I don't wear a lot of makeup and when I doI buy it from stores like Target and Ulta, AKA nothing too pricey. I feel like it can be a small luxury to look forward to. Sooo...what brands/colors do you like? Love ideas for foundation, mascara, lip gloss, blush, lipstick, nail polish...
Thanks :)

I used to be a Clinique girl, then the recession hit, and I can't afford to be *that* girl anymore. LOL
So I have been trying out "drugstore" makeup.
I just started using Cover Girls NatureLuxe foundation - absolutely love it.
I like many of their products. I also use Almay and Maybelline for eye liners and eye shadows. Check the company's websites, many of them allow users to review the products - I find that a product that gets a lot of negative comments is usually one I don't like either.
I buy my makeup at Walgreens - they will let me return it, as long as I have the receipt, even after I have taken it home, opened it and tried it.
Happy Shopping!!!
I LOVE L'Oreal lipstick! I also like the Revlon (or is it loreal?) dual color pigment eye shadows. I kid you not -it's not drugstore but I have an Aveda brown eyeliner pencil that I have used almost everyday for the last 10 years! I sharpen it and I still have 3/4 of it to go! Best makeup purchase ever!
And I also love Revlon Smoke Rise powder blush.
The BEST cheap nail polish I have found is Sinful Colors. I've seen it at Walgreens and Target for $1.99 a bottle (although sometimes Walgreens sells it for $.99!) and it LASTS on natural fingernails none the less! Love it love it love and would shout it from the rooftops.
(I tried NYC nail polish and I swear within an hour I had chips.)
Hi! I am pretty much a "junkie" when it comes to makeup. I have a little bit of everything from the priciest to the cheapest :). I love Cover Girl's Lipslicks! I use the "hipster" shade. It is the perfect tinted lipgloss that actually moisturizes your lips too. I have tried so many things and I always come back to this.
Love the Neutrogena tinted moisturizer foundation in a tube!
AND I don't think you can beat Wet & Wild Nail polish for like about 2 bucks.
Try Nyx cosmetics at Ulta ... the price is wonderful, the color pay of is professional quality and the range of products is amazing. I would have to see you in person to reccomend colors however a good make up blog to check out for use of color is xsparkage.com
I love Aveda! Their tinted moisturizer is just right for summer, and I looooove their "Mosscara" mascara. Their bronzer is great too! It's not as natural as I would like, but I still like it.
I like Rimmel, you can get it at all of the places you mentioned and it is cheap, but not like Wet n Wild cheap or anything. The only thing I hate in that line is their mascara, it's dry, which is weird. For mascara I like Max Factor the best, but I often buy Maybeline ;) But you should check out Rimmel, they have lots of fun stuff. Oh for lip gloss I go to Bath and Body works and get this gloss in a squeeze tube, it is like this peppermint infused gloss with a very small hint of color. It is AMAZING!!! Your lips will never want to be touched by any other lip gloss again! It's like $8 a tube, but seriously it's worth it :D
I like some of the Physician's formula foundations, powders, and bronzers; also neutrogena healthy skin concealer (super creamy!), wet n wild blush sticks and shimmer highlighter powder, loreal HIP lipglosses and their dual eyeshadow someone else mentioned, loreal voluminous mascara, any brand of gel eyeliner, revlon lipsticks, anything by sonia kashuk for target including her makeup brushes...I'm pretty much a makeup junkie, drugstore or department store and have tried a lot!!
I love Loreal mascara even better than lancome and a lot of other expensive brands. I found it for a good price at bed bath and beyond at Sepulveda and PCH in the shopping center there (near trader joe's) I can't think of the name of the shopping center there but on the first floor of bed bath & beyond they have all kinds of cosmetics and hair product etc. at excellent prices. Hope this helps with your mascara. The other make-up I use IS pricey but I'm 67 yrs. old and need all the help I can get!! lol! SORRY Sara I just saw that you are in MN and I'm in Ca so don't know if you have a bed bath and beyond and it certainly doesn't help you to know the street it's on. :)
Burts Bees. Burts Bee's lip stains and glosses feel amazing and smell great while being all natural. They seem to be available at all Target's.
maybelline for eyeliner, I use Melaleuca for foundation. There's nothing better. Burts bees for lipstick. =D
I love the Mary Kay Time Wise foundation. It's a bit more expensive, but it is one of the few splurges that I do in my make up. I think it's worth it. Other than that, I buy all of my make up from the Cover Girl line. I've never had any problems with any of their products that I've bought.
Mary Kay all the way! You'll be surprised that you're not paying any more then drug store brands, getting better quality, 100% guarantee and can try before you buy.
