We had some annoying birds as well. We bought one of those plastic owls at Home Depot. I was surprised when it scared them off.
We have a cardinal that loves to run into our front window of our house beginning at dawn every morning and lasting until night time. Sometimes it just flies right at the window and pecks and pecks. It wakes us up in the morning and my son at nap time, and it's just driving me crazy. I've never had anything like this. Anyone have suggestions on something to do to make it stop?

We had a robin that was doing this. It was seeing its own reflection and thinking it needed to scare the stranger bird off it's territory. We took a bar of soap and made some designs over our windows and that did the trick. If you don't mind your windows looking funny for a while this works! A month or so later I cleaned it off and the bird did not come back.
Hello M.,
would a picture of an OWL scare him? I'm just wondering... Good luck! ~C.~
I'm sure you know that he is doing it because he sees his reflection and thinks it is another bird in his territory.
My suggestion is to either put something on the window to break up the reflection, like cling stickers (but you'd have to use a lot) or a smoky screen or coating of some sort. I've heard that bird are afraid of shiny things and have seen a suggestion before to hang old CD's from a branch nearby, or even from the eaves in front of the window. While that would be unsightly, it might at least help until the mating and baby season is over.
Buy a cheap plastic toy snake. Same principle but less obtrusive than the owl.
