Has anyone ever used Dream Dinners for meals? If so, any comments about the taste, cost, convenience, etc. My husband and I are expecting are second baby in 2 weeks and I was looking for something quick and easy to cook when I have my hands full with a newborn and 1 1/2 year old. Thanks for the advice!

What can I do next?

I have used Dream Dinners several times amd LOVE the food, not too mention the convienance of not having to go to the store, while everyone is still 1/2 asleep from being woken up several times in the night to feed the new addition, love it!

I too have heard about this and have heard nothing but great things about it.

I think I can give you an even better suggestion though....I'm with a company called Homemade Gourmet and we have a Collection called: Let's Make Dinner

You can make 19 meals to put in your freezer--it's as easy as grabbing a gallon sized zip-lock bag, adding a few wet ingredients (usually just a canned good or two) and the seasoning packet. When you are ready to eat them simply pull a meal out of the freezer, throw it in your crock pot (can even be fully frozen and you can cook it all day) or cook it in the oven!

SO EASY!! Our Collection even comes with a grocery list and step by step instructions on how to make the meals. Your family is sure to LOVE THEM!!! In fact I have Burgundy beef tips cooking in my crock pot right now for dinner. Whip up a veggie and some bread and I've got dinner done.

You can check out my website at

Please feel free to PM me with any questions! 100% customer satisfaction so you've got nothing to lose! Best of luck with you new baby!!!!

I hope you have a wonderful Dream Dinners experience. It is the ultimate buy in bulk and save way to have a home cooked dinner and does cost less than buying the same ingredients at a grocery store. It is also very eco friendly, so much less packaging when you buy in bulk. We actually have children on our tasting panels; it is amazing to see what kids will really eat. We put kids in a box when we only feed them "white foods". Don’t miss our new Dream Rewards loyalty program. You can get more dinner ideas on my blog Take care. http://stephanieallen.wordpress.com/

We use Dinner Studio and it's great. No, it's super great! Very convenient, and actually very cost effective - each meal ends up being around $4.00. Dinner Studio actually delivers directly to your door. Super easy too as many of the meals are crock pot meals and those that aren't are usually just drop the items in an oven proof dish and pop in the oven. It has made dinner time for us so much easier and has cut down significantly on our grocery bill and overall food bill (we use Mint to track our expenses and have brought our food bill down by almost $1000). We usually order one extra serving and have enough left over for us to each have lunch to take to work the next day.

The only suggestion I have is, if you like really flavorful food to let them know that you like it spicy, salty, etc. and even then you may have to add some of your own spices, but really it's all been quite delicious and well worth it!

We've also done dream dinners, or the one that you go and put it all together yourself and while that was fun, it wasn't necessarily easier in the long run. Also, they went out of business where we live. But, Dinner Studio has turned out to be better for us so we're happy.

Hi N., I use to go to Dream Dinners. I loved it and that was a girls day out. After doing it for a few months, I realized that my husband and I enjoyed the meals but the kids were not eating them so I was really making two meals so it wasn't working for us. I loved the convenience of having meals already and it saved time but in the long run it wassn't saving us money. Now that my girls are older I may try again. Good luck with the new baby and all.

I did it last month and LOVED it. They have a special for 1st timers that makes it cost effective (I did something like 6 3-serving meals + a free 6 serving meal for about $75). I was worried about having too much in my freezer, but most meals are packaged in Ziplocs and easy to store. Also, 3 of our meals never made it to the freezer... we ate them right away. It was fun & super easy to put the meals together. One of my friends went with her husband and they were having a great time. If you're limited on time, ask them about putting the meals together for you. Some locations run specials where it's free, but I think the regular cost is $25. Might be worth it since you're so close to delivering!

Everything was tasty. A couple of the recipes were things I could replicate at home on my own, so I got some good ideas. I plan to go again with a friend and split the bigger package. When you don't have the special, it's a bit more expensive. However, it's still less than going out to dinner. My husband loved having some nice meals and I loved not having to think about what to make for dinner. I highly recommend it!

Good luck to you! Your life is about to get exponentially busier and more joyful. Enjoy the ride!

Great for portion control, too. They use true heathy portion sizes! It was great for me for after baby. My husband needed a little more on his gym days.

I've never used them, but I did do Super Suppers a few times (I thought it was so-so). A good friend of mine who is VERY picky and quite a chef in her own right loves Dream Dinners. She's done it several different times. She really is a foodie and has great taste in food, so I would think they would be good. She also thought Super Suppers was so-so, so I think Dream Dinners must be several notches above that.

I've heard great things about Dream Dinners and I'm planning to do it before my second baby is born in October. : )
I also heard about an alternative company that's a little cheaper, if you have a bunch of friends that want to do it together: www.homemadegourmet.com/kathleen17197
I think am going to be putting together an event with her, though I don't know if it will be in the next two weeks. Send me a private message if you want more info!

I love it! Doing it every month is too much food for us but I go every couple months. It is great to have something to throw together when everyone is hungry!

Hi N.,
I did Dream Dinners a few times a couple of years ago, and it was very good! The location closest to me has since gone out of business, however. As others have said--- good portion control, great taste, convenient. The main thing I'd recommend is to be sure that you clear out your freezer to have enough space available ahead of time. Also, it is good to bring a cooler with you to transport your food preparations from the store to your home. Good luck with the new baby!

I did it when I had my second and loved it. The food is good, and it is very convenient. I have done it several times since because it's so easy. Also, the location I went to will prepare the meals for you (it costs a couple dollars extra per meal), which is really great once you have the newborn.

I did it a few years ago and it was great. You can split the large meals into 2, if you have a smaller family, so you end up with more meals. You can add more fo what you want and none of what you don't. It's really great for after having a baby, so you have all of your meals right there and cooking instructions are on top of the lid. Ended up cheaper than ordering in for those first few weeks...or getting food from friends that contained certain foods we don't eat.
