I used this company for my daughters birthday party in Feb and they were awesome. Not to expensive (if you don't go crazy) and fast shipping. Also the things we got were very good quality, not cheepy like some other party stroes. And the personalized Dr. Seuss stuff is cute! There are three pages of things to choose from for Dr. Seuss.
For young children I always say go with cupcakes, no cutting, less mess. My sister made cupcakes for my daughters birthday and then we did a giant cupcake for the candle/smash cake. The only reason a regular cake would be easier is if you have to transport it for awhile.
I googled Dr. Seuss Food Ideas and over 500,000 results came up. Here are a few of the first websites that came up, they have some great ideas. I really liked the second one, tons of different snack ideas. You can sit the book that goes with the snack behind the plate so everyone will know where it comes from. Or just print a picture of the cover of the book if you don't have the book/don't want it to get ruined with the food.

The thing 1 and 2 cupcakes are AMAZING!
Good Luck great idea!
My hubby made an awesome banana cake the other night. Regular yellow cake, and then add the banana cream pudding mix/powder. Then add a bit of extra water to the regular cake directions. It tasted amazing!
First stop is to look on amazon.com and search for "Dr. Seuss party." There are loads of supplies and games on there to choose from. Teacher sites also have stuff to use that you can google. If you don't want to buy pre-made things, use lots of Red and White decorations ( LOTS of streamers etc.), as that is the trademark colors of the Cat in the Hat. A big fish bowl with a Red fish and a Blue fish in it would be a cute centerpiece (provided they can be in the same bowl....Beta Fish cannot), and something your daughter would love to have as pets after the party. You can dress her in a classic dress that perhaps a Who from Whoville would wear or Daisy Head Maizie (sp?)and have daisies in vases around the room. You can also decorate the room with Dr. Seuss books set up around the room, and have party goers bring their favorite or read from the book to the rest of the party. Its funny to hear adults read Seuss books aloud, LOL!! You can make a "PIN THE GREEN EGGS and HAM on the plate, by putting paper plates on the wall, and like in pin the tail on the donkey, people have to place the eggs and ham on the plates (you can make them out of paper or print off some photos of some from the internet. You can make Oobleck (green goop from the story Bartholomew and the Oobleck ). All you need is White Elmers Glue food coloring and Liquid Starch (the recipe is online), OR since your daughter is little, cornstarch and water makes a great slime that she can splash in and wouldn't be toxic if she puts it in her mouth. Green Playdough and Cool Whip with green food coloring works well for Oobleck, too....there are loads of ideas out there. Google it, and you'll be overwhelmed. I'm a teacher and I've done Dr Seuss stuff year after year and it never gets dull. Have FUN!!
My mom gave me a great banana cake recipe for my son's 1st birthday...it consists of ripe banana, applesauce, flour, baking powder...no sugar and nothing artificial. I frosted it with whipped cream, lightly sweetened with applesauce. It was delicious and healthy! If you still need a recipe, reply to me and I'll try to locate it for you.
Have fun!
This is an adorable idea! I don't know if you have US Toy near you, but I know they make Dr. Seuss hats that are very reasonably priced...you could use them for party favors. I don't have a banana cake recipe, but I wanted to add, make sure you use cream cheese icing...yum! I think you can get a lot of inspiration from just looking at the books and stuff again.
i see truffalla trees made out of cotton candy and colored stripe straws
green eggs (of course)
plenty of tall striped hats(you can buy plastic top hats and decorate them with red and white tape.
little shirts that are painted with the sayings "thing one, thing two, thing three"
the cake could be anything, but id do a "dust spec on a pink fluffy flower falling into a feild of the same"
VERY CUTE IDEA
My friend made the COOLEST green egs and ham cake for her son's first birthday! I'm pretty sure she found it online.
I LOVE doing bday stuff and I LOVE Dr. Seuss. ( our playroom is Dr.Seuss) I have a couple of ideas. Maybe for cupcakes use marshmallows and red frosting to make a cat in the hat hat and and red white and light blue like the book for decorations. If its a small enough group and the kids are an okay age what about goldfish (like 0.50/per fish) and a little fishbowl from Michaels' Crafts). You could even write with a colored sharpie on the bowl a quote from the fish or something.
