Just seeing if anyone has gone to FIRM for infertility recently. We got pregnant through ivf and we are trying again but our original doctor is no longer there. Just trying to decide between Dr. Winslow and Dr. Duffy for a frozen embryo cycle. Thanks for any feedback!

Go see ripoff report on Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine not too positive.
Dr. Winslow is WONDERFUL!!! We have two year old boy/girl twins thanks to him. He was so helpful and HONEST about the whole process and our chances. I had more issues than it sounds like you have - I had to use donor eggs and he was able to prepare my body which went through menopause at 27 for pregnancy. We were pregnant after the first try and we have Dr. Winslow to thank. He is a little quirky and dry, but that makes him successful - he seems to love his work and tells you like it is - no matter how low the chances are. It is such an emitionally journey that I think needed his "matter of fact" out look. Good luck!!!! :)
I am assuming that Dr. Brown is no longer at FIRM. I have heard that Dr. Winslow is not the friendliest -- kind of cold to his patients. I don't know anything about Dr. Duffy. I wonder if you could meet each of them and then make a desicion. It is a lot of extra's, but I know you want this experience to be the same as your first. I hope this helps. Good Luck and let me know what you find out.
Dr. Winslow is susposed to be great! I did not use him for our IVF but a cousin did and he knows what he is doing, I think his bedside manner is a little dry though, I don't know the other Dr. hope this helps
A.,
Hi there. My name is J. and I went to that group and had a successful time there. I never had Dr. Winslow, but did see Dr. Duffy. He is really nice and personable. I saw another doctor that is no longer in the group, but I still would highly recommend them. I have a friend who had Dr. Winslow and has wonderful triplets first time trying. I had twins with the second time trying and have 11 frozen embryos left. My second time was with the frozen embryos. They are wonderful and all the nurses are great there too. I hope this helps, and also they have a high success rate, with your option of up to 3 embryos at a time. You get to choose.
Good luck and God bless,
J.

Wow, I am going through basically the same thing. Did you have Dr. Brown? He was the best!!! I actually called the office and asked the person on the phone who had the most similar bedside manner as Dr. Brown??? I had interacted with Dr. Winslow because he was on call during my cycle last time... he's nice but not super warm... I really need that during this type thing! Anyways, they recommended Dr. Duffy.
I also have a friend who just recently went through this and used Dr. Duffy as well and really liked him.
I just had my 2nd appointment with Duffy on Friday and he was quite nice... he's still not Dr. Brown... but he's close =).
Good luck!!!

Hi A., I tried IVF about 8 years ago with this clinic. The Dr I saw was not real warm either, he was very matter of fact and at that time I was 38 and he basically told me that my chances of conceiving were very slim.(sorry cannot remember his name now). I did see Dr Winslow also on 1 occasion when my regular Dr was out. I had to go where my insurance would cover me but I feel now that with all the advancements in medicine there will be some better places to choose from.
Good luck with IVF, it can be so stressful on your body, mind and spirit.

I have not used FIRM, but my OBGYN is a specialist in that field - her name is Dr. Christine Edwards - she is in Coral Springs and is a GREAT doctor!
