NEVER EVER durring pregnancy. And be careful about having sex, the mans semen is a natural inducer of labor. It can cause contractions. Your dr should know all of this and tell you about it also!

While you are pregnant....NEVER. After the baby is born, and you've had your 6-week check-up, ask your doctor.

When you're not pregnant, I believe the recommendation is to NOT douche MORE OFTEN than 2x a month (boxes usually have this info, but again, ask your dr).

Since I'm a diabetic, I don't douche (high risk of infections), but I do use the Cottonelle wipes that you can find on the shelf next to the toilet paper. These are really great to use when you're at "that time of the month", and NOTHING feels clean!!

CONGRATS on baby #3!!!

You should never douche period, and especially not during pregnancy. Douching, ultimately does more harm than good because it disrupts the natural balance of good vs. bad bacteria that grows in your uterus. Your uterus is a self-cleaning organ. It doesn't need any more help than what nature already provides. That's why we have vaginal discharge. That's the uterus cleaning out all the bad bacteria.

Okay first off let me say this NEver douche while pregnant. In the early stages it can cause miscarriage, and in later stages an infection that i am sure you do not want. Most doctors will tell you that even after sex you do not have to douche period. This is just a thing we women do to feel clean but it is not necessary.

Never -- before, during or after pregnancy. It's just not a good thing at all.

S.,
Well it may sound gross but I was told by my Ob not to douche because it can introduce all kinds of things in there that are not good like bacteria and fungus. I used to douche regularly and it was hard for me to stop because I felt "unclean" but I got used to of it and have no problems with odor or yeast infections. Speaking of yeast, douching can cause these infections when the balance is knocked off by washing all good bacteria out of there. As far as douching during pregnancy I would ask my doctor about that before doing it. :)
Congrats on #3!

HI S.,
I've also heard and read on the box to not ever douche during pregnancy.
Like the other post stated, try some of the cleansing/refreshing wipes.....they seem to work just fine in helping you feel fresh.

Good luck with your pregnancy and new baby. : )

Douching stips your body of naturally occuring, GOOD bacteria. If you feel 'unclean', use pre-moistened toilet wipes. Shower after (or during!) sex if you need to freshen up.
