Double Stroller Recommendations - Redwood City, CA

I bought two double strollers. One is the sit and stand with the second seat. It is a good stroller that can handle an active kid standing and it has the car seat adapter. The reason I don't like this stroller is once my daughter was out of her car seat and sitting in the stroller seat she looked very uncomfortable. The seat has almost no padding and very ridged. She never went to sleep in that stroller.
The second stroller I bought I love. I bought the circo side by side. Chicco Trevi Twin Stroller - Extreme. Both sides lay almost flat maybe 15% incline, Folds very small (it collapses like an umbrella stroller) and my three year old son jumps in and out as he wants to. Also it fits though most doors with the kids in it.
With having both a front and back stroller and a side-by-side I would recomend the side-by-side.

My boys are 23 mo apart. We have the Joovy Ultralight and love it. Freedom for the older kid , carseat attachment for the baby - great handling & fits into the trunk of our sedan. I don't jog or do a ton of walking in the neighborhood - if I did I would have considered the phil & ted. Too expensive for how much we'd use it.

My kids are 21 months apart, and after test driving strollers around the store I decided that I'd rather push a side-by-side than a tandem bus. The side by side turned out perfect for us. I really liked how the kids interacted sitting next to each other, and especially how big brother would help fix the blanket and binky of his baby sister. And if you look for one that is less than 30 inches wide, you won't have problems getting through standard doors at the stores. And if you get one that is fully reclining, you can use it for a newborn.

I realized later that I would have been very unhappy with a tandem stroller. Even though I would have been able to snap the carseat into it, it would have been much bigger and bulkier, even when folded. And my babies both outgrew the infant carseats at about 7 months anyway.

We picked a Maclaren and loved it. At first I thought it was too expensive, but it was totally worth it. Plus, we took care of it reasonably well and were able to resell it when we were done to make up a big chunk of the original price. You can also find good condition strollers on craigslist or ebay and save some money.

My girls are 17 months apart and we got a Phil & Ted. Folds easy, lightweight and older child can easily climb in and out of the lower seat, even though the heavier child is supposed to be in the front seat. We didn't want a side by side b/c of the wideness factor and trunk space. Drawbacks are it is pricey, doesn't come cupholders/tray (you have to buy them in addition to the stroller,) not a big storage basket, and small sun shade. We weighed our options each double stroller has drawbacks and this had the least for us and what we are using it for. We love it though.

We use the Graco Quattro Tour...I have a nearly 3 yr old and a 6 mo. old boy. Its a front and back stroller. Its a little heavy but what do you expect for a double stroller. Plenty of storage and drink holders. We went to Disneyland and everyone had it! So by popular opinion its great!!

This totally depends on what you want to use a stroller for. We do a lot of outdoor stuff, so I bought a swivel-front-wheel double jogger--which is just the thing for us. My little people are 17 months apart. My stroller is a Dreamer Design, bought when they went out of business & Costco sold their remaining inventory, but several companies make a similar stroller.

I have the Graco Quattro (sp?) stroller which I use for my twin sons ( now 20 months) and occasionally my older toddler. I like it a lot! I didn't really try out other strollers, though. It is long, but i find it easy to maneuver. It has plenty of storage and I always have diapers and extra clothes available which is a plus. I liked to snap the car seats in when they were little-very handy, esp. when they were sleeping. My 3 year old likes to ride in it too. Good luck!

strollers are like cars - there are a lot of choices and what works best for one family might not be what you'd like best. So a few things to ask yourself when you consider strollers:
1. what kind of terrain will you be using it on (mostly smooth sidewalks, malls, etc. or bumpy pavement and occasional fire-trail type roads?). Are your sidewalks wide or narrow?
2. Will you be using it mostly from your house or taking it in and out of the car a lot? Using it a lot in stores/public places
3. How much storage space do you need?

Questions like these will help you determine which features will be most important in the strollers you consider - e.g. type of wheels, ability to fold easily and compactly, lightweight vs. durable (unfortunately many lightweight strollers are flimsier than their heavier counterparts so this is usually a trade off). After you've narrowed down your list, try to take a "test drive" with your almost-2YO to get a feel for how easy it is for you to maneuver, fold, and lift the strollers. Side by side vs. tandem is also a personal preference - both types have pluses and minuses (I had a side by side for my twins and personally found it easier to maneuver than a tandem even though the side by side is wider)

I have a 27 month old and a 2 month old, and I was asking the same question a couple of months ago. I ended up buying two double strollers and I absolutely love them both. I got a really nice stroller (baby jogger city mini elite). It is so easy to push and it has bigger wheels and is the smoothest stroller I have ever pushed (I have 3 other strollers). It holds 50 pounds on each side and both sides can recline flat for a newborn if needed. It was $400 at babies R US and you would love it. I also bought a sit and stand double stroller ($130) and my oldest loves the freedom that it has to sit on the bench and the infant carrier attaches to the front, but can also be a regular stroller seat when I am ready to get rid of the carrier. My daycare lady has this stroller and that is who recommended it to me. She has had it for a couple of years and it can actually hold a 3 kid standing if you ever needed it. It is a cheaper alternative, but very high quality.

If you are looking for a jogging stroller get the bob revolution, best stroller out there. May seem bulky but moves the best and easiest. Has a front swivel wheel and attachment for infant carrier. I am having my 2nd baby and am going to purchase this. I bought the single and it is by far the best stroller I have used.

We love our Peg Aria Twin. It was at the time (nearly 4 years ago) the lightest weight stroller on the market (and it makes a BIG difference when you lift that thing in and out a lot) and it is wheelchair width, so as long as wherever you go is compliant, you will fit!

I preferred a side by side because they are much lighter, for me, easier to maneuver, both kids get the same view, and you're not lifting one or the other in and out all the time. Also the Peg--although there may be other models now--doesn't have the middle set of wheels, which are a pest if you are taller or have a long stride.

Even now, at ages 5 and 3, we still use it on walks and at the zoo if not to carry a worn-out kiddo, then our purses and jackets, etc. We may have been too rough on it, but the one thing I found is that the under storage hangs low and I ripped a hole right in it not too long after we had it. Oh, and the flimsy little cupholder broke right off, too. But my water bottle actually sets perfectly in the middle of the canopies.
