Double Stroller or Not... - Chicago,IL

Hello,

I just found out I'm pregnant. and I'm only a few weeks along so it feels weird to even be posting this. But, we're moving to Europe and before we go we are purchasing items that would otherwise be too costly to buy there. My husband and I don't generally tell anyone, not family or friends, until 28 weeks. Having said that, I wanted to ask your opinion on whether or not a double stroller is worth it...our daughter will have just turned 2 when the next one is born. We already own the infant Graco travel system, and one single stroller. so Is a double necessary? They seem so heavy and bulky to me when I see others with them.
Thanks.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I just saw other posts with similar questions and got a lot of good advice reading those old posts, so nevermind!

I saw you said nevermind, but just wanted to add - my kids are 18 months apart, and I LOVE my Combi Twin Sport. It's very lightweight and small enough to fit in the trunk of a regular car. Plus, it's really affordable. Good luck with this baby!

One more even though you've read other posts. Maclaren makes an awesome double stroller, and since it's British, it's probably cheaper in Europe than here.

My double stroller was a little under $250 plus if you use coupons and buy it when it is on sale you an get it cheaper- I would not be without it!! although I have never been to Europe but I would think it would be convenient to have. I got mine at Babies R Us. It folds down almost as small as my single travel system stroller too. I LOVE IT!!

I had a sit and stand but my kids are about 3 years apart. I didn't use it very long (less than a year). But you may need it longer with your age difference.

Since Europe is much more public transit and pedestrian based than we are here in the US (although Chicago is PT oriented), you might get much more use out if it in the EU than here. I use mine a ton, and imagine that if I lived in the city I'd use it a ton more.

What an exciting experience! Congrats on the pregnancy and the major move!!
