L.- I have the safety1st tandem- It folds like an umbrella stroller and is reasonably price- around $100. What I don't like is that only one seat reclines and now that my baby is 1- there isn't a lot of leg room for her in the back and she is very able to pull her sister's hair. The basket is small and there isn't really any place to put a big diaper bag (which I guarantee you will have! LOL) I also have a hand me down Graco Duo Glider tandem- I really don't like it- very hard to steer with both hands, and I'm sure there will be several times you'll be holding one and trying to steer one handed! I found a Graco side by side at a garage sale- it hadn't been taken care of real well and it was 9 years old- but it was $3 and I wanted to see if I liked it. Let me tell you I know own a brand new one! LOVE LOVE LOVE this stroller. 2 huge baskets behind the seats, and both seats recline, it is amazingly easy to steer...yes even 1 handed. It is wider than the other of course, but easy to get used to and it's not as hard to get into place as you would think. It's no wider than a wheelchair- so places have to be accessible to you also! I cannot stress how much you will appreciate two reclining seats- especially if your oldest is only 1. My daughter was 18 mos when #2 came, so I didn't think I would need two reclining seats- WRONG. After about 4 months of somebody slumped over sitting up trying to sleep- we went shopping again. It folds really easy and lays fairly flat- no higher than a single. I bought ours at walmart.com-Graco DuoRider. It is still a good price at around $120...plus shipping. Good luck with #2 We are now expecting #3 and I'm looking forward to using it for several more years! Sorry I'm so long winded, but I just can't say enough good about this stroller! ~Jenny If you can find the September 2, 2006 requests on here there was another woman who asked about double strollers for infant and toddler and there are a lot of responses!
