Hi Mom-

I am expecting baby #2 in early June and my son will be almost four when this baby is born. Anyone out there with kids in this age range and what did you do? I am debating between a single stroller and a double. My son is pretty good about staying close to me but I'm a bit concerned if we are out for a long time and he gets tired of walking...

Your opinions/experiences are much appreciated!

What can I do next?

I agree with the sit and stand option! If you are gone on longer trips, like the zoo etc., she wont walk for that long:) O had the Joovy, but my friend had the baby trend, and honestly, I liked hers better. It had cup holders and a little tray for keys, pacifiers, or whatever else you need. Good luck, two is a lot of fun...the best part is watching your oldest love your little one!! ~A.~

Maybe go with a stroller that has a sit and stand option. That way if he gets tired he can hop and have a break. I have heard that the one by Baby Trend from Babies R Us is a good deal for the money. Good luck!

I am due in June as well and my daughter will be 4 in April. She still likes to be in a stroller but is getting to big. I bought the Joovy sit and stand......she loves it. Makes her feel like a big girl

My son was 4 when our other son was born in Jan 2008. We used a single stroller just for the baby. We felt that our oldest was old enough to walk with us and learn to stay with us. But if you want to use a stroller the sit and stand stroller is good, or so I've heard from my friend with 2 little ones.

My oldest was 3 1/2 when the baby was born and I wish I had a Joovy from the day he was born. I did not get the double stroller at first b/c my oldest barely used at stroller after 3 yrs old. We got it when the baby was about 8 months old although much of the time our oldest could walk, there were many times that he got tired or we just wanted to move along faster and the Joovy is perfect for that. The "baby' is almost 2 now and my oldest is 5 and we still use it all the time. He loves the fact that he can hop on and off easily and can sit down for a break or stand up and look out. I ask him now whether he wants me to bring the double stroller to the Zoo, the Mall, etc and he almost always says yes.

The newer model of the Joovy comes with a thing that will hold two cups and a small pocket - it is not ideal but it works fine for us. We got the model which is lighter than the older model and I think that makes a difference for me, as far as getting it in and out of the car. Good luck with your decision and congratulations on the pregnancy!
