I have never heard of it, but as a parent I would be concerned about my child's chemical exposure if he/she attended that preschool.
That's just my 2 cents.
I've just learned about doterra On Guard. A couple of moms I know use it to help fight colds and viruses. They use it on counter tops and diffuse it into the air. One preschool diffuses it into the air throughout the day.
I am wondering if you've had success keeping your kids healthy by diffusing it into the air?

Just to point out that essential oils ARE chemicals. Just because they are found in nature doesn't make them any different from what we synthesize in labs. As a matter of fact some of the most toxic substances are found in nature.
With essential oils there is a potential for allergies and they can irritate the airways if they are diffused, especially in people that already suffer from respiratory problems.
I would not be opposed to using them (I love to diffuse some vanilla myself) but I think it is important to be aware that "natural" does not equal safe for everyone. You know your family best, if you have issues with allergies or a family member with respiratory issues (such as asthma) you may want to be careful or consult your doctor.
Good luck.
I think there is no science anywhere that shows a single ingredient, nutrient or product can prevent illnesses. There may be some value to essential oils, but I have to question the research that supports a company that has so many different products of individual items. It makes no sense. While there may be some value to the natural sources of these oils, asking the consumer to play kitchen chemist by choosing one product for this and another product for that is putting all of the decision making on the average person. Is there any clinical data to support the claims?
The best defense against colds and flu and viruses and allergies is a strong immune system, and that is only accomplished by providing ALL of the nutrients we need in a comprehensive form. We need to supplement, that's been proven for years. Our diets don't contain what we need, no matter how well we eat. But that nutritional supplementation is obtained by putting all of the nutrients in our bodies at the same time, so that each vitamin and mineral and trace element has all of its necessary "partners" in order to be utilized by the body. They just aren't absorbed or metabolized in individual form. That's why there are aisles and aisles of individual vitamins in the stores, but everyone's still sick and we have a health care crisis!
So, no, I don't think diffusing anything in the air is going to help immunity. All of the work in immune system strengthening, including epigenetics (getting the cells to function as they should), shows the opposite. I work in the field and I've found that here is an easier way to strengthen the immune system. My family has not been sick in over 5 years and we don't even get flu shots - we just never get sick anymore. I trust science over hype and commercials.
It's an essential oil that I've heard great things about. Non-toxic.
