Would someone PLEASE let me know of any churches, food banks, donation drop offs where I can donate to help Ike victims? My family and I live in Galveston County but escaped the wrath of the hurricane. I have a couple of cans of un-opened formula, un-opened rice cereal, jars of baby food, (all not expired of course) and several bags of 6-18 month girls clothes. I also have other various gently used items that I think someone would benefit from. I saved these things for a garage sale but figured "why hold onto them?" Someone really could use them now. If someone would please drop me a line...I can drive anywhere in Dickinson, League City, Seabrook, Kemah and surrounding areas.

Interfaith Caring Ministries has opened a Hurricane Relief Center in League City in the old Palais Royal shopping center. I volunteer there and we accept donations of food, clothing and household items. These are given to Hurricane Ike victims. Donations are accepted from 9 to 5 Monday thru Thursday.

I have a victim family that a 5 month old baby was burned by the natural mother and was taken to a family that has nothing for the child. The baby is 5 months and adoptive parents were not prepared for the baby girl. No clothes and things at this time so anything will help. I can meet you somewhere to pick them up if you have anything for that baby 5 month old girl.

City of Seabrook Distribution and Donation Center is at The Hampton Inn on Nasa Parkway.
I live in Seabrook and we only had minor damage at our house but I know your donations will be appreciated and very helpful to those who lost everything.
Thank you,

Hi Margaret,

My maid just told me that she has a friend/neighbor in Hitchcock that has (2) girls. 2 and 9 months and they lost everything because a tree fell on their home and they also had quite a bit of water damage. Let me know if you are interested in donating your items to them.

Thanks,
J. C.

I live in League City.

My church is accepting donations. They have set up a list for those in need and for those can help. Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church, Hitchcock, TX; off of Fairwood and Hwy 6. They are providing all sorts of assistance for those affected by Hurrican Ike.

Interfaith Caring Ministries in League City is working out of the Palai Royal Building next to Joanne's on Hwy. 518. They are taking all kinds of donations. They finally put up a big sign so you can see it from the road. They are also asking for volunteers to come and work there.
Peace,
M.
