Donating File Folders?

I have a bunch of file folders I just don't need - letter size, and some manila. The manillas are written on but can be white-outed to use again. Any ideas on who might need them / where I could donate them?

What can I do next?

Check with your school's art department - a lot of times that heavy material can be used for projects. Teachers are always struggling with too many kids and too small a budget.

Check your local prisons - they often have libraries with few resources, and may have files of prisoner job training info they need to file, and they are never on anyone's radar.

Freecycle - there may be a chapter near you. You'd be astounded at the things people want and trade. You have to give something away first, but thereafter you can be eligible to accept free stuff. It's a fantastic way to keep things out of the landfills! Go to Freecycle.org and see what's near you. You can arrange for people to pick up at your curb or garage, and you don't even have to be home.

We have a local food bank/used items/clothing place that would gladly take those - any kind of organization like that, churches, schools, etc.

P.,

I would check with a women's shelter, homeless shelter, local school and even a local child/day care as they might be able to use them for projects.

Good luck!

Check with any teachers you know. They keep all sorts of things filed on their desks and in file drawers. If it can be whited out, or blacked out with sharpie, maybe go ahead and offer to do so as well.

You might find some businesses that do community service. Such as Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and more. Find out if they have a need for file folders.
