Donatable or Toss?

OK, so when I was preggers, I totally overestimated how big I was gonna get and bought a bunch of cotten panties. Washed, never worn cause I carried high and my butt didn't expand as far as I expected. So now I have probably 30pairs of underwear (just found them while cleaning out closet). I'm assuming that they're not donatable as they are underwear and not in original packaging, but I would hate to throw them out.

This is a lesson to expectant first-time moms - don't OVER-prepare! LOL!

Any ideas? Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thanks ladies - I'll check with the shelters. If not, they're definitely big enough to use as rags - and pretty, too! LOL!

If they are clean and nice looking I'd donate them.

I bought a new bra, lost 20 pounds and now it doesn't fit. I'm going to donate it.

There are plenty of less fortunate folks who, I would think, would be happy to receive them.

You can donate them to a shelter or other agency. I would put them in ziploc bags marked "washed but never worn".

Most thrift store will resell undies in good condition. Goodwill and ARC both do.

That's the ONE thing I have never bought at thrift - but they do carry them! And none of them look new.

I believe Genesis Women's Shelter in Dallas will take them, as will the Austin Street Centre (a homeless shelter). Two wonderful organizations.

You can donate and claim $3 per pair at tax time according to Goodwill's chart. I only claimed the cost($1 per pair). Believe it or not, the biggest ones are the most needed and you will improve a woman's life

Donate - put them in a large ziplock with a note explaining. Better to donate to those who are in need.

Most places won't take open packages of undergarments, but you could certainly call around and find out!

Can you cut them up and use them as rags for cleaning windows, mirrors, etc.?

I say donate and let them decide. They can always toss them.

Take them to a local charity and donate them. If you had ever been inside one you would know they usually have an entire rack of slips, bras and panties.

Normal people buy them, soap works, believe it or not. And if you don't think soap cleans laundry there is always bleach...LOL.

There are many homeless shelters that I am sure would LOVE your donation!! The mainstream donation places - where they sell, not give, their donated items will not accept them.

Call around, I'm sure your area (like everywhere else) has tons of homeless shelters.

If they are never worn I would donate them. Or cut them up and use them as dust cloths. :)
