I am looking for suggestions for a local kennel/home option to watch our 100 lb dog. We usually exchange this service with one other friend who has dogs but I want another option. We are hoping to travel more and don't want to keep asking the same family all the time. I looked into the pet hotel at PetSmart and I don't think he would do well there but then again maybe I am too sensitive. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks.

She's very easy going and loves, loves, loves dogs! If not I would suggest Doggie Depot on Rogers St in Downers Grove, my girlfreind boards her dog there and has nothing but positive things to say.
We take our dog (100 lb Rottweiler) to Orland Park Boarding Kennel (www.opboardingkennel.com) - it's not fancy but it's out on a large lot of land and the dogs are let outside individually a few times a day. Our dog comes back extremely happy.
I have heard that the Doggie Depot in Downers Grove also has a boarding facility.
I have used the Petshotel....I upgrade to a suite with a door and place them in day camp or at least give them play visits. They do not go outside and my dogs (siberian huskys) go for long two walks a day and are pretty crazy to get out when we take them home. I am switching to allfordog....they come to your house 2 to 3 times a day for 30 or 45 minutes (your choice) they will get mail, water plants...walk, feed and play with your dog.
We used BelleAire just north of Ogden Ave in Downers Grove. They encourage a visit first and tour of their facility.
