I have friends that swear by it. But for my feet it just shreds them up. Am I using them wrong? I have followed the instructions and I don't do it while it's wet.
**Note I did originally say Pediped. .. as in shoes. lol I meant the pediegg

What can I do next?

Works for me, hubby and my daughter. It's very important to only go in one direction. Actually, we have a file that looks like a giant emery board that works much better.

What happens to the skin on your feet, if you use the file vigorously, it can cause damage to the skin, and make it grow back even thicker!

Firstly, make sure the pedegg is the proper brand. It has to say pedegg. There are others on the market, that, well destroy your feet.. the holes look like "stars" instead of like a cheese grater. Stay clear of the "star" shaped holes.

Secondly, you should use it in one direction only, not back and forth...

Thirdly, clean them regularly and change your "blade" when it becomes dull or every 3 months.

I have one and it is great, however I do prefer the magicfile from Beautybrands. It does a better job, yes its messy, but I get more exfoliation from that file than from the pedegg.

Still trying to figure out how to get back my baby soft feet... UGH! My feet are soooooooo dry and cracked lately. I would love to hear other mommy's advice.. Cotton socks? Burts Bees? I've tried that... still suffer from sore soles.

I feel for you.

It works best on skin that has not been softened by oils or lotions.
You might want to do a foot soak and use a pumice stone.

Not for really bad feet in my experience ... I use a foot file, actually I use a few different ones but nothing beats a good pedicure and daily maintenence in the shower with a foot file and foot cream.

My sister and I love them. Are you using it when your feet are dry or wet? You need to do it when the are very dry, not damp, or straight out of socks, but just dry. In one direction only, it all comes off, and it doesn't shred at all!

no I really didnt like it either. What I found works the BEST and is so cheap you wont believe it. Buy one of those big black nail files like the manicurist uses on acrylics. (the long board, not the rectangular spongy thing) You can get one for under $2 at Sallys. Just use the board on your heels or wherever you have callouses. Be sure to put a towel down because you get a lot of white dust coming off. Dont overdo it, when the scratchies are off, just smooth with the other side and then put on lotion. It's best to do it when your feet are dry, so file before you get in the shower or put on lotion. When your done, just wash out the file and let it dry. (I just rub it a few times under hot water with my nail brush and shake off excess water)

My feet were looking pretty bad this summer and I did that every other day or so until I felt like my feet were better and now I do it about 1x week. My pedicures are so much easier now!

No, it doesn't work well and my heels are never smooth afterwards. I did find Pumi Bar that is disposible and works like a charm. It's like a piece of styrofoam with ridges. I keep it in the shower and use it every other day and no more rough feet. They are about $1.59 at the Sally beauty salon here but they're probably sold at most walmart or walgreens. I had the worst dry feet and have tried everything. This is the only thing that works for me -- and put a little mosturizer on after shower.

I'm literally lol! I just threw away mine today! I tried using it several times but it made me feet look awful. I'd much rather go get a pedicure!

I love mine, I don't go long without using it. I think it has to do with the amount of pressure you use or the dryness of the skin around the feet. If it is tearing the skin then your skin isn't dry enough and scaly enough for it. Use some sort of smoothing stone instead.

I know I'm replying late but I never get on here over the weekend so I'm getting caught up. I am laughing because everyone says don't do it WET, well , that's what I do, fresh out of the shower I scrub my heels with it and then I let them dry. Then right before bed I use one of those really rough black nail files they use in the shops for acrylic nails and that gets rid of all the snags...but your feet have to be REALLY dry. Then when you hop in bed, slap on thick lotion and your feet will be back to almost normal in no time! I live in AZ where we LIVE in sandals all year long and I had really bad cracked heels and they are practically normal now. So I hope it helps you. Good luck!

Egads no.. They were too much for my feet. I use a good pumice stone. Remember to soak your feet in warm soapy water then begin smoothing the feet, rince your stone every few minutes.

You have to use it when your feet are dry, and use it a little bit every day. You can't do one big file and call it done. Use it a little bit one day, make sure you use the black sandpaper like pad after you use the grater part. When you've finished use a really good lotion like Flexitol (it is going to feel like you are putting lard on your feet, this stuff is really thick) and then wear socks for the day. Do it again the next day. You will get nice soft heels.
