I don't know about mouthwashes, but I know that some of the fluoride rinses do something like that. Maybe you bought a fluoride rinse once without realizing it?
does it tint food debris? I bought some random mouthwash a year or two ago and LOVED that it tinted food debris - so when I spit into the sink I could see proof that I'd gotten more food particles out of my mouth. Well I forgot what brand and what type it was and have yet to find it again. I can't go around buying every bottle of purple mouthwash! I have been using my son's Phineas and Ferb mouthwash - sadly enough - because I like knowing if I am brushing/flossing well enough and HIS mouthwash tints the food debris - says so on the bottle too. I read 10 bottles yesterday at the store and couldn't find one that said it tinted debris. I looked online just now and could only find childrens' mouthwash. But I know that there is/was one for adults out there! Anyone know what kind/brand it is?
@ Victoria - maybe you are right. I don't know what I bought last time. I just rememer it was purple and it tinted the food.
@ Laura & Sherri - Listerine's Smartrinse is what my son has that I am currently using. I wanted to find an adult rinse/wash that tints. But heck, if the Crest (as suggested below) doesn't work, then I may just stick with the kid's kind!
@ ItsCrazyLife - CREST! I will buy that one next trip to the store. That is likely what I bought last time. THANK YOU!
@ Ale - If Crest doesn't work, I will look into Cosway too. Thank you!
@ Christy - Great mom's we are! I will look into ACT. Or maybe just keep using Phineas' smartrinse. :P

HA! My boys have the same Phineas & Ferb mouthwash and I use it too!! Mainly because I am too cheap to buy my own - LOL.
I remember the brand that really marketed this was ACT smart rinse. Maybe Amazon has it. ..
The Crest purple mouthwash does this. The blue one doesn;t, don;t know why since it is pretty much the same name--one thing listed differently. It doesn;t say-or I have not noticed on the bottle--about tinting but I have seen the "proof".
I agree with Smart Rinse... My kids love it cuz it's "gross", and I love it because it shows what they're missing....
Cosway, you can get it online E-Cosway......It is the only one I know and I have used. It is fluoride free.
