dr hotaling out of loyola but has officed in oak brook and wheaton
Hi Moms! My pediatrician just prescribed a 30 day course of antibiotics for my 5 year old son for an ear infection in both ears. Twelve days ago, he prescribed a 10 day dose of augmentin (amoxicillin). It clearly didn't work this time . . . He has about 3 ear infections a year. I am very hesitant to use any antibiotic, especially 30 days of one. I would like him to see another doctor, preferably a pediatric ear/nose/throat doctor. Does anyone know of one? I understand that most do not specialize in Pediatrics, so I am willing to go to a regular ear/nose/throat doc too. Please let me know if you have any suggestions . . . Would any of you give 30 days of antibiotics? Thanks for the help.

Amazing ENT, my daughter had almost 9 months of ear infections and after working with him for a few months we got to the point of tubes, he was amazing through the whole process. I highly recommend him, he came highly recommended from my pediatrician and I've heard great things about him from other mothers.
Midwest ENT has offices in Winfield, St. Charles and Naperville. Both my kids see Dr. Donzelli Naperville phone # is ###-###-#### / Winfield phone # is ###-###-#### / St. Charles phone # is ###-###-####. They are wonderful. Both kids have ear tubes and it was like night and day with the ear infections. They were gone for my son completely and my daughter had only 3 after the surgery which was 1 1/2 years ago and she had 9 infections in 7 months prior to the surgery.
I'm with Suzi R. My son went to Dr. Caniglia. My son was 3 and had his tonsils and adenoids removed by him and everything went perfect! And... He is WONDERFUL with children!
Good luck to you!
