I always gave a bottle with the baby in a somewhat sitting up position. I worked to NOT overfeed the baby too. Most babies go to sleep while taking a bottle. There's nothing wrong with just sitting there a few minutes enjoying rocking them or just watching them.

If you're asking about a toddler then you should let them eat, get them up, wash their hands and face, change them, then they can get in bed and go to sleep for their afternoon nap.

If this is a preschool age child, 2-4 years old then they can eat, wash up, go to bed.

Digestion of food takes hours after it is consumed. It is a long process and not a factor at all in whether or not anyone, including a baby, should take a nap. Did you mean something else?

Burp her and put her down for her nap...no problem. (Unless your baby suffers from reflux...babies who have this tend to need to sleep in a more upright position right after eating...such as strapped in a baby seat)

If the child is prone to spitting up or reflux, then an upright position is a good idea for a little while.
This is a great question for your pediatricians nurse answer line - they are usually pretty good with answering all sort of questions from new parents.

Do you mean digest or eat? I think you should retype your question.

There's not enough info here. Your question is almost the same, word for word, as the title.

How old a child are we talking about here? Is there a problem with digestion, with reflux, or something else? Have you had any parenting classes or prior experience? Not sure what the background is here and it would help us answer you if you would edit your question and put in more data.

I'm assuming you mean a baby. Does she have reflux? That changes the answer.
