I would like to give portraits of my son and myself as a gift for my husbands' birthday, but we're on a budget. Does anyone know how expensive their packages run?
find a coupon and tell youself going in that you will say no to any of the extras they offer. you will get a smaller package size than at other places for a little more money, but it is a fun experience. I take my kids at Easter because they have live rabbits for the pics.
Don't forget to try Picture People too. They have no sitting fee, you get them same day, and they are used to helping kids. They can make pics black and white too if that is something you were looking for. There are always coupons around for them and on their website they have their prices listed so you can plan ahead of time. Best way to save money is to have a really good idea of what you want (poses, sizes, number of pics, monetary amount you can afford) before you go and stick to it. I even tell them ahead of time to give them an idea so neither of us wastes our time. Any photo place counts on you making the impulse buys and spending more, being prepared can help fend that off some.
I've never been to Glamour Shots b/c a couple people that I know went and spent a ton of money. They were very happy w/ the pictures, but felt that they got "suckered" into spending more than they wanted. I highly recommend Portrait Innovations too.
glamour shots tends to be pretty expensive - my daughter and i did the same thing for my husband for christmas a few years ago and spent way more than i wanted but the pictures turned out pretty good - i HIGHLY recommend checking out portrait innovations at park and the tollway - they do great work also and you don't have to spend an arm and a leg - there is no sitting fee and they have a package for $9.95 (i believe) that includes TONS of pictures - you would have lots left over for relatives - i believe their website is www.portraitinnovations.com - we were just as happy is not happier (due to the number of pictures we recieved) with portrait innovations - good luck!
they can be pretty expensive. if you look in the parenting mags there are coupons for jc penny studio and they do a very good job. the package is like 35 pictures for 8 dollars. plus sometimes 5 dollars for each extra person. if you go clinique they will usually do your makeup for free you might have to buy something. it is good to make an appt. before hand. jc penny likes a couple days notice.

Glamour Shots is a little pricey, but I took my daughter to Portrait Innovations for Christmas, and they are adorable. Plus, we got them back in 20 minutes after taking them! The staff was tons more playful with her and got to to give some great smiles!! I spent about $150, but got tons of pics. Check them out on their website cause I think they are running a $9.99 special right now!!
