I see it touted as basically a "miracle pill" that is supposed to help you reshape your body. I am sure it is over exageratted, but how much? Is there anyone out there who has tried this and give me some honest feedback?

It's priced at $99 for a month supply, but I was considering using my Ulta 20% off coupon to try it. Should I try it?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I am not expecting a miracle pill. I know the way to weight loss is diet and exercize. I also know that there are some products out there that will assist in your weight loss goals. That is why I am asking for honest reviews of people who have tried this specific supplement. I want to know if real people have had any success with this particular diet aid.

There is no such thing as a "miracle pill". Save your money.

Just eat healthy (MODERATION) and exercise. It is a lifestyle, not a diet.

PLUS, you have no idea what is in this "miracle pill" that can possibly screw up your system. Check all possible side effects.

I'm in food science, and I noted that there are no ingredient lists anywhere or any links to the supposed clinical study. That's a red flag to me. They also are very vague about what gives the energy boost and they refer vaguely to "natural energy boosters like caffeine." Caffeine may boost the metabolism but there's always a crash afterwards (look at the terrible health problems that result from heavily-caffeinated "energy shots" that cause heart palpitations in many people).

What strikes me about it is that it's a capsule - there's nothing in it to nourish the body. Most diets fail because the body goes into starvation mode - people cut back calories too much and therefore cut back nutrients. Our food is already nutrient-deficient, which is one reason we are often testing "low" in this nutrient or that mineral. We are craving more nutrition so we head to the cabinet for more food, which is equally nutrient-deficient. This applies to fresh fruits and vegetables, other whole foods - they just don't have the nutrition in them that they did 40 years ago. So even though we are eating less protein, less fat and fewer carbs, we are heavier and have more health problems than we used to.

I always recommend supplements with clinical studies, ingredient panels, patents (proving safety and effectiveness), and that actually nourish the body. I rarely if ever recommend anything in pill or capsule form. Pills never, capsules occasionally depending on the make-up of the capsule itself to be sure it dissolves and how concentrated the ingredient that's inside it. This capsule says it regulates insulin release, but it doesn't say how and I see no clinical studies on metabolic syndrome or other blood sugar management techniques. Maybe they exist, but if so, why wouldn't the ads and websites tout their existence?

I also see some errors in some of the websites - typos and that sort of thing. That's a red flag to me because I'm not sure they're done by a professional company with the structure and dedication to excellence that you should expect. I also don't see where it's manufactured and whether they have the FDA Good Manufacturing Practices designation. I didn't research this heavily so maybe you have more info on this.

Otherwise, I don't see how they're getting enough valuable nutrients into a little capsule. There are a few good immune system boosters that block fat absorption and which stimulate the metabolism in a nutrient-laden way without stimulating the central nervous system. And of course they have to remain bioactive during digestion and be absorbable into the cells for them to have any effectiveness.

D., I don't know anything about Vysera-CLS, but looking @ the Amazon reviews that Theresa linked, it is not rated well at all.

If you are looking for something to assist you in starting a diet/exercise program, talk to your doctor about Phentermine. http://www.phentermine.com/

(FYI, Phentermine is the Phen in Fen-Phen, a drug that was removed from sale after harmful side effects were linked to Fenfluramine. Phentermine is proven safe & effective, and is available only via prescription)

I took it a few years ago, as I needed some help in losing weight & thought if I could just get a "kick start". My doctor prescribed it, and I was successful in losing about 10 pounds (also eating healthier & more portion controlled).

The first few days, I felt like I had a RedBull - lots of energy. That settled down within a week. I actually went back on it a couple of times, due to my struggles with Fibromyalgia, as it gave me the power to fight some of the fatigue that is chronic with the syndrome.

If you would rather just grab an OTC weightloss aid, vs. going through your doctor, you might want to try Hydroxycut. There are studies to show that their product was more successful than a placebo in assisting with weight loss, and they redesigned their formula after adverse side effects with the earlier supplement formula, removing questionable ingredients. http://www.webmd.com/diet/hydroxycitric-acid-hydroxycut

Hope this info is helpful for you, & best of luck in reaching your goals! T. =-)

sweetie, i'm right there with ya. i *know* there are no miracle pills, but oh how i want one. and despite my understanding of nutrition and exercise, i succumb to the lure every now and then and get some green coffee extract or whatever the latest snake oil is.
sometimes it even helps a little.
your particular miracle pill is awfully expensive. if it actually worked and was worth the money, you'd have validation somewhere other than on its own websites. if you've got a hundred smackeroos to burn, go ahead, but you are throwing it away. not the end of the world- it may take wasting some $ for you to get back to where you need to be- changing your lifestyle.
