Basically companys lay out the job and people go up there and post there experience and cost and the company picks someone. The amount of money you make depends on the jobs that you do, but some people make really good money on there.

I have been looking for something to do that is truly a work at home job. I've done several direct sales things, but they're work at OTHER'S homes, and with 3 (almost 4) kids, I can't keep leaving the house and/or finding people to watch the kids so I can do home shows/parties. Have you all heard of the site chacha.com? Another mom turned me on to it and its really cool. It’s a search engine but with a twist. Like most search engines you can type in your question/topic and hit search and sift through the sites OR you can click on "search with guide" and a real person will search for the information for you. It all takes place in an IM sort of setting so you can tell them exactly what you're looking for. I think, this is especially cool if you are stuck and can't find something OR if you need something but don't have time, you can have them looking while you're doing something else.

There are many at home opps depending on your preference, some with very little to know start up. Depending on what you are interested in doing. The cheapest at home business I would recommend would be Avon. There is only a 10.00 start up fee. They give you a lot of starter materials. You will eventually have to buy your own materials but I did it for a while and it was nice. I then got a full time job and had to give it up. It was to much with the job. I know that you requested that the stay-at-home job not have a high start-up cost, but I want to tell you about what I do for a living, so please bear with me!

I work for a national company being a medical transcriptionist. It is very good money (most novice transcriptionist can make $30000 to $35000) and at most companies you can pick and choose your hours. I work scheduled hours (9-5) that seems to work very well for me. If you have no transcription background; however, you would need to take an at-home medical transcription course (usually provided in conjunction with the company - e.g. Careerstep). This course ranges anywhere from $1000-$1500 depending on which company you use. Before you say it, I know, you don't want to spend that amount of money - I didn't either!! But it is worth it; it is a steady job, good money, and you are NOT self-employed, which means you don't have to do your own taxes (bonus)!

I always tell women (moms) to take their "net" pay from where they are working now, subtract all the expenses it takes to get to work and maintain a "work appearance" (dress clothes, shoes, gas to and from work, lunch at work, DAYCARE, etc.), and that is your "real net income". Now think about how much you will be making working as a medical transcriptionist from home with no added expenses (most companies will even supply a computer to a full-time employee as well as pay for your high-speed internet access). That $1000 start-up cost doesn't seem like so much anymore, when it is guaranteed that you will more than make it up in probably 6 months.

Do you like Pampered Chef? If you just do 4 shows (ave. $500 in sales)a month on a consistant basis you could make $400 a month. It is fun but you do have to work it and be consistant. You have to look for contacts and book shows every month or you don't get a paycheck.

6. How many different ways can I work the business.
7. What kind of support system would I have with this company.

Then, starting in month 7 you will receive a residual commission anywhere from $6 to $18 (depending on the plan that was sold). You will receive this commission every single month, year after year for the lifetime of that business.

2.) Training specialist - We will train you to look for other people, just like you and me, that want to work from home. They answer our ad campaign and call us directly or they register for more information through our Company Website. We then call these people back, spend about 15-20 minutes talking with them, and if they're interested, we enroll them by filling out their applications online and submitting them to Ameriplan electronically, or they can also Enroll themselves through our Personal Websites. You will then be responsible for mentoring and training them as they start their business. You will be paid $90 for every person that you help work at home for Ameriplan and then starting in month 7 you will receive a residual commission of $15, month after month, year after year for the life of that business.

So you see, there are no products. We just handle paperwork from the comfort of our home office. We never telemarket or cold call anyone. We just call people who have requested more information from us (just like you did). We are just the "middle man" setting up people's memberships/brokerships with Ameriplan.

You play an integral role in the accomplishment of the team. Time and effort is invested in every person who works with us and wants to build their dreams from home. OUR PAY

(within 24 hours Ameriplan will cut us a check and mail it to us.) We are paid on a residual basis too. That means every month that the business is on the books with Ameriplan we continue to receive our commission every single month...forever....for the life of that business. Our commission rates are 30% and we are initially paid for 6 months worth of commission right up front whenever we write new business. Then starting in month 7, when that advancement is used up, we will receive that 30% added to our residual checks that are issued on the 13th of the month.*

As an example, let's say you helped a family two years ago sign up with our full medical plan. You would have received an initial payment of $108 and that would have been your commission for the first 6 months of that person's membership. Then starting in month 7 you would have begun to receive $18 a month every month thereafter and you would still be receiving it today as long as they were still a member. Every month that our members pay their membership fees to Ameriplan we receive 30% of those fees. This business really does build up. Imagine if you enrolled 10 new customers a month for the next two years ... for the next five years ... etc.

*you have the option of choosing to be paid "as earned". This would mean that you would receive just one months portion of your commission up front and then your residuals would just come monthly thereafter. Your checks would range from $6 to $18 initially instead of $36 to $108. In the end, you are being paid the same amount, it is just a preference as to HOW you receive it.
