A Karaoke Machine from Santa is a brilliant gift for my "loves to perform" seven year old daughter. Looking online for one has been pretty overwhelming. Does anybody have a karaoke machine they could recommend?

What can I do next?

costco has a cool one and its all built in to mic http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11486361...

Also if you dont like it you can return it. The machines and this one are also a little pricey. I love to karaoke but cant imagine spending that much on a system so reccomend if you have a gaming system (Wii or playstatio 3) they have great karaoke games and most are sold with the mics. The games run about $30-$50 and when you play you get scored and unlock new songs. They have 2 new one out that are a blast, one is Disney Sing It, way fun, I play w my 4 year old and she loves it, and also play with our neighbors who have 2 daughters 8 and 11 and they love it so much I bought it for Xmas for them. The other is Glee Sing It (which I am hoping to get from Santa myself hehe). Its also nice cause then you can use the system for other games and the whole family can enjoy and it wont break the bank. A lot of the machines are nice but then you still need to buy the additional CDs and stuff so it can get costly. Hope this helps :)

I am not sure how fancy of a machine you are looking for, but couple years ago Santa brought my daughter the Disco light singing machine from Toys R Us. It's pretty basic, but also fairly inexpensive. The lights on it are really cute. It doesn't have a screen on the machine itself, you have to hook it to the tv to read the words and it has not seemed to get the best review on the Toys r us website but my daughter has had it for almsot 2 years now and uses it weekly if not daily and we haven't had any issues with it at all.

Honestly, I can't remember what kind ours is, but my five year old LOVES it. He's played with it for a few years actually and it's a big hit whenever the cousins or other kids are over...I say anything that has a CD player and a microphone is all good. Ours has the video screen thing, but they never use that...they just make up their own words. And, I don't think the video screen works anymore anyway...just find something durable with microphones you can easily replace because that's the first thing that will break--and it seems to be the key ingrediant! They all want to be American Idols and hear their voices amplified! Good luck!

I purchased a Karaoke Wand a few years ago. It is about 3 lbs and fits in a small box about the size of a loaf of bread. It came with 2 chips (1000 songs each) and I purchased two more. It is FABULOUS! you can plug into any tv/vcr etc that has the RCA cables (Red, yellow and white plugins) I found the updated ones on this site: http://www.singoutlet.com/?gclid=CNyJy7Obt6UCFREPbAodCTghYg

My kids LOVE it! we are the hit of nay party we bring it to.
