I Have been taking it for quite a while. It works pretty well for me. It's not perfect, but it helps a lot. I have not gained weight, and I take it at night, and sleep just fine. I think both of those things (mentioned by others) are on a person by person basis. I do get light headed if I stand up too quickly, but that's about it. Hope that helps! Oh, I take it for depression, and anxiety!

I was fine on it (20mg) but since trying to wean off of it, it sucks!!! Mood swings, and this weird buzzing feeling in my head with some dizzy-ness. No fun.

It will take awhile to get into your system before you see a difference. I was on it before, then switched jobs and was without it for 6 months because I had to find a new provider. I got back on it 6 weeks ago and feel a lot better. Not as irritable and moody, better energy, less crying and lashing out (verbally). It can take 4- 6 weeks to see a difference.

I currently take it for anxiety and it really really helps. The first few days were somewhat difficult with the feeling of uneasiness and a bit more anxious than usual...but once it got into my system (about a week later) I really starting feeling much better. My anxiety is limited and manageable now. I took this medication years ago with the same outcome. I got off of it b/c I was trying to get pregnant. Good Luck with it...I hope it helps you as much as it helps me.

Yes I have been on it for two and half years now and find it helps me to manage my busy and many times stressful life. I have allergies to many meds and this one was fine, so thats a big plus. Just one thing to think about is that for me, and I have heard for others as well, taking it later in the day may make it hard to fall asleep, so take it in the morning. besides that i didnt have any side effects. Depression and anxiety make it so hard to be productive, and its hard to get support for it since its often not so comfortable to talk about it, but with the right help it can be treated, and it feels so good to be yourself again.
Good Luck, Hope it helps.

I take the generic of it for depression. It works just as well for me as Cymbalta did. I changed becuase of the cost of Cymbalta. I don't have any problems with it and it does help my depression quite a bit.

Sarah - you can get it on the cheap program at Wal-Mart. I think I pay $6 for 30 days worth (I take 1 1/2 pills a day). For 30 pills it should only be $4. Check into it if you need to / want to go back on it.

I took it for my mood disorder (I can't remember how much but it was a high dose since nothing had been working and I was rapid cycling, cutting, burning and suffering with an eating disorder) I had been on three other medications before that and celexa was the only one that seemed to work, but then I ran out, and had moved so I didn't have insurance or a doctor so I stopped taking it. I agree with Bethyskids going off it definatly sucks.

I was on it for about a year. Take it with food/after a meal so it doesn't upset your stomach. I do think I gained about 5-10 pounds while I was taking it, so that is a not so fun side effect, but it could be worse.

Overall, I think it helped my moods improve, but I never felt like it was perfect. Over time, I increased my dosage from 10 to 40 mg daily, but even at 40 I still felt like I could be doing better. I felt much better than when I was on nothing, but I never felt great.
