At first, I only made baby shirts and tutus. My brand name was MamaMakeMeThat. Now I've branched out and am making personalized mugs, cups, adult shirts, home decor, and a few more things. The current name only draws in mothers or grandmothers, or people alike and I need a name that draws a bigger group of people in. Help me!!!

What can I do next?

What about dropping the Mama and just use: Make Me That. I think that covers everything. Good luck!

Your company name doesn't sell your products. Visibility and marketing will do that.

Please search out names already in use. The last thing you need is something easily confused with an existing name, or a "cease and desist" order because you have violated someone's trademark or copyright. You can search for domain names to see what's available and what's not. That's the first step in your work, not asking random people on Mamapedia (as well meaning as we all may be).

There are advertising professionals and marketing specialists who do this kind of work. I know because my husband is one of them (and no, he's not looking for business). But I know from watching him for decades how much time he spends creating possible names for all kinds of companies and then searching to see what's available.

I think too many small businesspeople spend too much time coming up with a cute name rather than working with a professional who, with a small investment from you, will look at your whole product line and also help you find the sites where the most sales exist. If your products are similar to a lot of what's out there, you need to come up with a Basic Competitive Advantage that helps you stand out. One reason so many small businesses fail is that the owners/creative people don't spend enough time on this.
