I am looking for one you use. One thats been tweaked, if needed, or you ahve tips about to make it perfect. Moist, yummy and delicious.

I have never done a banana cake before, but my teen daughter has promised to make one for her baby cousin who will be a year old next month. This is a very special little gal in our family, as she was born at 30 weeks gestation and has been a miracle since. Never needed intervention, other than an IV. No breathing help, no feeding tube, etc. She went home at 5 weeks old and just under 5 pounds!

We are making a GIANT cupcake so she can do what she wants to it, then other cupcakes or pan (sheet) cakes for the other guests. Banana was requested due to her still limited diet, but she loves Banana! Shes about a whopping 15 pounds now (at 11 mos old)..and we are so excited for her birthday party to be perfect!

Thansk for any tips and recipes!

What can I do next?

YES! I make Decadent Banana Cake every chance I get and everyone raves about it! Kids seem to love it as much as adults. It's a Southern Living recipe. The homemade coconut cream cheese frosting is amazing too, and the entire thing is really easy. I will try to find the exact link, but go to www.myrecipes.com and search for Decadent Banana Cake. I'm actually surprised at how much kids like it, but they do! I've had kids choose it twice over all other cakes at cake walks! I make it exactly according to the recipe.

My grandmother made the best banana cake and when I asked how for the recipe she said that she bought a boxed cake mix, but then added in real bananas. I think she would mash two bananas and use them in place of some of the oil that the box calls for. It was always moist and delish. Have a great party!

I make banana muffins all the time, and have used the same recipe for banana bread. Not sure how it would do for cake though, but here's the recipe you can try if you like. I usually add in some chocolate chips, sometimes chopped walnuts and a fruit. Blueberries is the favorite, blackberries are second favorite and strawberry is good too. But if you are making this a cake, and will be icing it, then you probably wont need much of those extras. It requires about 4-5 bananas.

here's the bread I made, this is the recipe I most recently made into muffins:

I've never tried this one, but it's rated 5 starts, so probably very good!
