I use Light Mountain Natural. When I began using it my hair was previously colored, and it worked fine.
I mix light brown and red, but I wouldn't use pure red, unless you want a flaming red look.
I am from Russia and it's very popular there ,so I have used as a teenager tons. However since I have been here(12 years) I have used the cheap ($2.97) hair color from walmart . I color my hair red, it works fine and people think that it's my natural color.....but being 14 weeks pregnant I was thinking of using Henna, since it's natural.....Can anybody recommend a brand that works for you? Can you even use it on the previously colored hair? TIA

I love henna and have been using it for about 8 years now.
I use a body art quality henna about once every 2 months.

This forum can answer just about every question you could think of:
I use Light Mountain brand now, but have used other brands and they worked just as well. I have chemical sensitivities and stay away from the commercial hair color brands.
I mix brown and red to get a deep auburn, which is a perfect match to my natural color. It covers fading patches very well, even though the instructions warn that it may not cover grey hair well. It also adds body and amazing gloss. A bit messy to use, but once every 4 weeks keeps my roots covered, and it's inexpensive.
Yes, I have henna'd my hair. I bought a bulk amount from the San Francisco Herb Co. and it works fine. It's not as finely ground as some, but seems to do the job just fine, plus it's way cheaper. I haven't used Light Mountain, though.
I have tried Lush's brand, but it's too messy, too long and too complicated for me, I like to go the Salon and enjoy myself for the most part.
I use Light Mountain henna - it's about $6 a box at Whole Foods. My hair is short, so one box colors it twice, and the color lasts about six weeks.
Yes I do,I really like the color & its smell..
It is also a very good hair conditioner.. It gives a very nice glow to your hair..
If you have any Indian grocery store near you live, they sell good & reliable henna for around $3-4..
Right now I`m using "Reshma" brand :-)
