Hello,
I've been reading and looks like I want to the midwife way for delivery in future. But, does a midwife do the annual gynecological exam, 1st and 2nd trimester screening, blood tests etc., or should I go to a OB GYN to do these tests?
Thanks!

What can I do next?

Mine did. I had the whole blood panel done and an ultrasound (this was elective from my side, and done by a U/S tech at the MW office and evaluated by a perinatologist who just sent the results to my MW).
The only thing she would have had to refer me for was an amnio (which I didn't have) and I did see an OB for a version, since my baby was breech.

I still see my midwife for my annual exams and have no intentions of EVER seeing an OB/GYN again, unless I have an illness that requires it.

I feel she truly provides "well woman care".
Good luck!

Your midwife is qualified to do all of these exams. Just be sure she is working in conjunction with a doctor.

Yes they do with a midwife they see you at all prenatal visits entire pregnancy even delivery they are oncall non stop as an obgyn they have scheduled oncall times so with all 3 of my deliverys it was always a dr I never met.I choose not to do a midwife just incase of emergency situations.I didn't have any pregnancy complications so a midwife would have been just fine

YES! :) They can do all of those things for you. I have thyroid problems, and my midwife even worked with my endocrinologist for my regular thyroid blood tests so I could do it all at one place.
