Hi M.- I call on a lot of the derms in Mesa/Chandler and I have a few recommendations for you based on where you are located. Alta Derm is on 63rd between Main and Broadway. They accept a variety of insurance plans and seem to be fairly up to date on all products and procedures. Dr. Sawyer and Dr. Goff and both great choices there, http://www.altaderm.com ###-###-####. Dr. Bruce Sloten and Dr. Sam Smith are right on Broadway and 63rd and are also both excellent choices and accept many insurance plans. I saw someone had mentioned Ruth Ireland, who works for AZ Skin and Cancer Center- their office is wonderful and I see Michelle Campbell there. Joan Altman, another PA in the office does an Acne Clinic on Saturdays so if you need a Saturday appt. you can also go see her then- their number is ###-###-####. Personally I never recommend Pro-Activ as they spend so much money on advertisement and it brings the price of the product sooo high. Another con is that it uses a water base and the water cannot fully dissolve the benzoyl peroxide crystals completely, and leaves bp residue on your face causing dryness, irritation and will bleach out your collars and towels. It depends on what kind of break-outs you are having but the derm will determine whether to use something to regulate the shedding of your skin cells, or the killing of the bacteria, or a combination of several different things. Just remember every new facial regiment will take at least 2 weeks to settle in and start being effecient, so just be patient and your face will be all cleared up in no time!!!
