So I drive a Chevy Trailblazer and it has the 3rd row seat and all but anyways I am seriously thinking about down sizing I really don't need the 3rd row anymore.....I am researching on a Honda Civic like a 2006 4 door....if you or anyone you know drives one would the back seat be big enough for three kids 2 of them in booster seats the small ones and then the baby in a carseat! Also if a stoller regular size one would fit in the trunk I am needing to get ideas I need something better on gas :) Thanks

What can I do next?

I had a Civic. That would be a really tight squeeze. The infant seat alone would take up most of the room back there. I know it sounds like a pain, but I would suggest going car shopping with those three items. The dealership should allow you to try the seats in the backseat of the car. I would do this even before test driving it. The stroller will fit, but it takes up all the room, you will not be able to get anything else back there.
Other than that, I loved my Civic.

I would say no way. We have a honda civic and the stroller in the trunk is no problem. How tall is your hubby? We just have my son in the middle of the back with his car seat and that is fine. But with a second one on the way, we need to think about getting something different. If we put any car seat behind my hubby, he will not fit in the car because he won't be able to put his seat back far enough. With 3 kids, I personally wouldn't dream of it!

We have an 05 Civic. I would not recommend this car to you. I feel so crapped with 1 kid. I am not sure if all your carseats would fit in the back, but it if it did, they would not be comfy. I would go check out more economy cars and put the seats in it, give it a true test....And we have a newer style Graco stroller that BARELY fits in the trunk...we have to wrangle with it everytime, its like a puzzle to get the dang thing in. good luck on your search!

My husband drives a honda civic and it has plenty of trunk space. I think the carseat and two booster seats will be a squeeze, but you can always bring the seats with you before you buy the car and see how they fit. It's a smooth drive and it gets great gas mileage, so it's worth a shot.

I will suggest to keep your car. Kids grow so fast, then you will need a bigger car for your family. I had a small car and my oldest was not comfortable after my third baby joined our family. Hope this helps, C.

We have a 2008 and while it will be a tight fit, you can fit 3 seats across. I have 2 Radians (1 ff, 1 rf) and an Airbooster. You should be able to do it with your seats as well.

Hi. My husband drives that exact car and loves it. Anyway, my girls are in booster seats. One is backless and one is full back. I think squeezing in an infant seat in the middle would be tough. I don't think the older kids would be able to buckle themselves in. I know that I can put two booster kids and one older kid in the middle without a problem. Maybe you can go to the dealer with your seats and test it out. The truck is plenty big for everything. I have no problem fitting a stroller in it. Good luck!!

My husband and I have a 2008. I completely agree with another mom with the same car. We love it. It's really nice and it fits our 2 children great but it would be really tight to fit a 3rd seat in there.

Hope that helps!

We have a 2001 four door Honda Civic that I LOVE. (The second Civic I've owned, first still lives in Michigan with the friend I sold it to and is now 18 years old.) It is a great car, fantastic on gas and reliable, but probably just a bit too small for that many people. Personally we're looking at getting something a smidge bigger to fit our two dogs and (soon to be) two kids.
However, having said that - bring your seats, kids, husband and stroller down to a dealership and see if you can stuff'em all in there. Can't hurt to try.

Yes, I do own a Honda Civic. As far as the space in back seat is concerned -- I think you can fit 2 booster seats and one car seat if they are the slim kinds (not all make and models). I am assuming you already have the car seats and boosters -- so take them with you and check yourself. The trunk is big enough for your needs for 3 children (I have 3 children so I know) -- diaper bag, stroller, groceries ..

But it will be hard to put everyone in the car and then buckle them. You need extra 5 to 7 minutes .. unless you can see the children can do it themselves. With the booster seats on the side of the car seat, the buckle is harder to get to -- so even if a child knows how to put the belt, they can't get it or at times their little fingers get squished (crying and few minutes there..).

Now the reliability issue .. We had several Hondas over a period of 14 years .. and our civic broke down (perfectly maintained by the dealer and always treated like a baby -- including cleaning, washing, waxing ..my boys are just used to of cleaning the cars every other weekend) at 106000 on the highway (The car was at the dealer for 19 point check up and all the good stuff a week ago) -- It was a nightmare with three kids (8,5,5) in the car and on the highway in the rush hour traffic. The kids had to come out of the car and helped pushed on the side -- Imagine that .. I was so nervous if someone hits them behind and they get run over by a car/truck.

Now the car is fixed couple weeks ago by the dealer, and 50% expenses were paid by the dealer for goodwill (they know us as we are regular customers -- from oil change to anything that the service suggests) -- I doubt I will have faith in Honda Civic again .. Not to mention the rental car and extra cash to get the car fixed .. We had bought the car new from the same dealership .. and recommended many friends to buy from there and they did buy it also .. But I do not think I would now be able to do that .. Breaking car is one thing .. but a well maintained car which has just gone for service (so we have peace of mind when driving with kids).. and with no warning .. just stalls and stops at the highway .. that was a nightmare.

I have many friends who have either Camry or Hybrid Camry and just love it .. I do not know how much price difference .. but you may want to look into that.

Take Care

Yes, I am a teacher and commuted with a teacher who owned one who had three small children last year. It was totally impossible to do what you are even thinking of doing. You and your children will be totally, totally miserable.

I own and drive a 2007 Honda Civic and I love it! I think you might be able to fit 2 boosters seats (as long as you're talking about the small boosters that are just the bottom part with small arm rest) and an infant car seat, but I think it would be very tight and maybe more of a hassel then anything. I have a 3 year old in a forward facing carseat and an infant car seat in mine and there isn't room in the middle for an adult to sit between them. That's what makes me wonder. My honda has more than enough trunk space... I fit a double stroller in mine. I would suggest taking one for a test drive and taking ALL of your kids with you to do a trial run. You wouldn't want to take the risk... if it didn't fit. But, if it does... I really do love my civic and the gas is great. Good Luck.

I don't know if this will help, but I drive an 05 accord, which is a bit bigger than the Civic and I can only fit two kids in the back one of which is in a car seat and the other in a booster, even without the booster it would be to tight of a squeeze to fit 3 kids. I think there is no way you could do a Civic or an Accord. I had a Civic when I got pregnant with my first, it was a two door, but we could not even get a car seat in the back at all. Hope this helps. Good luck in your search,

I own a honda civic. It is GREAT on gas, but i do not think the back seat is large enough, I have a three month old son and was recently watching my 3 year old niece for the week and I dont think another seat would fit.
