Do You like Your Honda Odyssey?

My husband would like to trade my Honda Pilot in for a Honda Odyssey. This would be our first minivan and I am kind of hesitant. If you have a Honda Odyssey, do you like or dislike it? Regret going to a minivan at all? Also, does anyone know anything about the 2008 Odyssey? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I fought getting the van...I wasn't ready to be a minivan mom. :) I was in favor of the Pilot. After my husband took me to test drive both of them, I couldn't fight the practicality of the Odyssey. The Pilot could accomodate the same number of people, but I had issue with the storage in the back. If the 3rd seat is being used, there is basically no room - and we always have the stroller with us. The Odyssey has PLENTY of storage room in back and the automatic side doors are a lifesaver and make it so much easier on you! (We have the 2007 model) I don't WANT to like it, but I really do LOVE IT! :) The seats can be reconfigured, which is really nice if you need to shift things around. With two kids, I would highly recommend it! Also a bit of advice - go ahead and spring for the entertainment system...the DVD player is a must!!!! :)

Just resign yourself to the fact that it's hard to be "cool" in a minivan...LOL! But it is worth it!

I don't have an Odyssey but have a Town and Country and like the other mom as much as I don't want to like it, I do. I swore I would never be a minivan Mom and have always driven an SUV, but with 2 and a 3rd on the way I needed more room and more convenience and the big SUV's (Expedition) weren't in our budget right now. The automatic sliding doors are the best thing ever and the fact that my 4 year old daughter can finally get in by herself without having to be lifted up is nice. We also have the entertainment center and it is nice for longer trips. It is also nice to have the third row seats without losing any trunck space. My husband and I still hate the idea that we drive a minivan but it is so much more convenient than the SUV's

LOVE LOVE LOVE our Honda Odyssey! It's awesome and I am glad we got it. We have 3 kids ages 4,3&1 and it is fabulous that we can get in and out with ease. So many pros and doesn't drive like a mini van at all compared to the other ones out there (we test drove them all). Hope you find what is right for you.

Yep!!! I swore I would never drive a minivan. But, here I am. We purchased a Nissan Quest this year. I love it!!! It really doesn't llook like a "typical" mini van at all. That is the only reason I chose it over the Honda Odessey.

We love it. We had 2 kids and 2 weeks after we got our Odyssey, we found out we were having another baby. So, now with the 3 kids, its great. You absolutely cannot beat the practicality of it. It is the best money we have spent! I have ridden in other people's vans, I love the Odyssey. More cupholders than any other van, just so many practical things. Like another Mom mentioned, the seating can be changed and it's easy to get to the 3rd row, easy to fold down the seat for extra storage, I could go on and on. We love the van. And starting with the 2006 models they added the "Economy" feature that helps with your gas mileage- when you are in town or you are going a constant steady speed, the engine shuts off 3 cylinders and you just run on 3 cylinders, we get awesome mileage on trips! You don't have to turn that feature on, it is automatic and makes no difference in the way the van runs. I say go for it! You won't be sorry.
