Do You Know a Good Realtor?

Hi Mamas,
I know this is probably crazy to do in this economy, but our little family is trying to move from Mansfield back to my home state of Missouri. We have an 11-month-old and I want her to know her grandparents. That said, I've never sold a house before, let alone in this market, and I need some advice on who would be a good, seasoned realtor to contact.

I'm not holding my breath for us to make much money off the house, I just want to break even and get on with things. We've got a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 2,100 square foot home in a quiet neighborhood in Mansfield, if that helps. Any advice would be great. I have chatted with one realtor, but she would take 6% right off the top of the sale of our house (is that standard?), so I wanted to look around a little more.

Thanks in advance!
H.

I know a great realtor who will bend over backwards to make sure everything goes the way you want it to. She works strictly by word of mouth referrals. Her name is Melissa Fain. Her number is ###-###-####. Just to give you an idea of how wonderful she is I will tell you a little story. We were supposed to have our closing on May 19th but it got moved to the 20th. We went in and signed the papers and the Title company crossed out the dates after we left and put the 20th. Well, the loan could not be funded because they did that. We didn't find out about this until Thursday before Memorial Day weekend. She busted her behind to get us a second closing on that Friday because we had to move out of our townhouse that weekend. After getting us in to sign the papers, she called and called and called to make sure that the loan funded on that Friday so we could move in the next day. After the loan funded at 5pm, she couldn't get a hold of the other realtor to get the keys so she arranged for a lock smith to replace all the locks the next morning so we could still move. And she was going to pay for that to happen. It just happens the other realtor called a little while later and we were able to get the keys. We were able to move that weekend and it's all because of how hard she worked to make it happen. I know she would do whatever she needed to to help you out! That's just the kind of person she is. Just tell her J. M. recommended you! :) Good luck

I know you already have several responses, but my suggestion is worth checking out. My neighbor Jill Hovis (GRI, ABR, SRES) is a realtor with Remax and she is an amazing person and realtor. She has been in the business about three years I think, but was named rookie of the year during her first year and has earned other awards. She is honest, kind, warm. She wants her clients to be happy with everything that happens. Her email address is ____@____.com or jillhovis.remax.com, or you can call her at ###-###-#### and tell her E. sent you. Good luck with your move! And just FYI, 6% is standard in the industry for residential.
