Do You Get Excited About Poop?

This is really random and odd I know. Our 7-mo old hadn't pooped in almost 4 days and he finally had a big poop today (after prune juice, woo-hoo, it worked!) and we are so pathetic we were practically singing about it. Ok, so we were singing about it. When did I become so lame? And just about an hour ago he had another big poop (biggest I've seen yet) and I was compelled to take a picture of it w/ my phone and send it to my husband. wow. I didn't (but only because my phone was dead)!

What can I do next?

Yes in some cases, good job BABY, but I'm pretty glad you did not photograph his poop! Wait til you are a senior citizen and you will consider a good BM a religious experience on some days! Again, nice, wonderful, but no photo's please.

Blessings.....

LOL ok I've got to share a song my best friend made up after she had kids:

There's a poopy in my diaper get it out, get it out
There's a poopy in my diaper get it out, get it out
There's a poopy in my diaper and I don't much like her
There's a poopy in my diaper get it out, get it out!

Hope you enjoyed that, happy 4th!!!

**Wow M R. Way to be a party pooper. (no pun intended). Just because you aren't excited about it, doesn't mean others aren't. Obviously by this post, I and HudMuffinMom aren't the only ones.

Oh yes my daughter had this problem and we were just as excited. In fact after five days she finally went on Christmas day. Merry Christmas to me! LOL I did have this conversation with my mom and my sister.

Me: So now we are going on day three with no poop.
My mom: Have you tried white grape juice?
Me: Yes, and prune juice.
My mom: Does she seem to be struggling to try and go.
Me: No (at this point I look at my pregnant sister who is making a funny face)
Me: What?
My sister: Sorry but conversations about poop just don't interest me.
I look at her belly then at my mom who is smirking.
Me to my sister: It will.

Fast forward five months
My sister: Now it's been three days and he (my nephew) hasn't pooped yet.
My mom: Have you tried white grape juice?
I started laughing.
My sister: What?
Me: I told you conversations about poop would be interesting.
My sister: Shut Up.

I still laugh about that nearly three years later.

Um no. (Wow, I can't believe up to this post I'm the only one who doesn't and hasn't!)

It is okay for you to get excited about your child's poop, but I can ASSURE you that no one else will be excited. Please don't take pictures of it and, say, post it to Facebook or anything crazy like that, or your poop post will make it on stfuparents...

Welcome to parenthood! This is so normal! We do the same thing. The best is when they poop right before a long car trip or a shopping trip! We really cheer when that happens!

Absolutley. Poop is good. My daughter suffered from cronic constipation and took miralax daily for 3 years. Hubby and I were amazed by how big her poops were and how much they could clog a toilet.

Welcome to motherhood!

We too have sung and danced about poop. Only parents get excited about poop, but I think that is totally normal. Maybe even a little expected.

Hahahahhah! You made me laugh! I remember when my little ones were babies and they would have a bm and I would get excited about it. But never to the point of taking a picture or making a song and dance about it!-lol. Just wait til you get to potty training....you will have never-ending experiences with pee and poop. The joys of motherhood! Certain moms can understand the poop thing but all your single no-child friends and family will not. Keep this one to yourself. :)

LOL! Yes, I can see that being exciting. But my baby poops like 6 times a day! Boo!

My friends baby would go 10 days without pooping. She was a nervous wreck over it. They did the poopy dance too!

Yes, at times!! I think all parents do. We've been known to sing and dance about a good poop once or twice!! My husband would not like me sending a picture of poop to him, though...

Have you ever given your baby probiotics? That will prevent constipation. You can get the powdered kind and put them in his bottle. (Take them yourself, if you are nursing.) A good yogurt everyday helps, too. YoBaby, is a good one!

Yep, you sound like a normal mom! Welcome to the club! hahaha. Just wait until potty training comes along. When he poops in the toilet, that's another exciting day with a lot of clapping, cheering, and singing. :)

Yup--we alwalys got excited because our first born always had trouble with it. For him it was his diet--he was allergic to everything and then, after we found out, it still took awhile to balance his system. If he's constipated for 4 days you should re-think what you are feeding him--it definitely not healthy (although normal, it's not healthy). Ideally you should go every time you eat (garbage in, garbage out so to speak), but at the very least at least once a day.
