LMAO! And getting up off of the floor.
Me? I can be THROWING UP and I'm thinking "after I brush my teeth...I'm going to make...."
I woke up positively STARVING this morning and I was baffled as to why. My fiance asked me what I had eaten during the day yesterday and I stopped to think... I woke up, did some work, showered, took the baby to the doctor, ran around town trying to find his medicine and checking out ENT's, came home, worked while the baby napped, then started making dinner and helping the girls with their homework when they got off the bus... but did I EAT?! I honestly don't remember, I was so busy! WHO DOES THAT?! I felt like such an airhead, I honestly couldn't remember. Does anyone get so busy that they forget to eat? I don't know whether to laugh at myself or be worried!! I'm not worried about forgetting to feed the kids, oh man do they let me know when they're hungry, I just forgot to feed MYSELF.
I love the answers so far, I can't help but laugh at myself! The thing is, I LOVE FOOD TOO, and I love cooking... I just forget sometimes when I'm crazy, super-mom busy ;)
LMAO! And getting up off of the floor.
Me? I can be THROWING UP and I'm thinking "after I brush my teeth...I'm going to make...."
Yes, yes, yes. The worst part is when I am running around and forgot to give the kids something to eat and they then complain they are "starving". Talk about a guilt trip.
I have to force myself to eat in the morning or I'll go all day without anything. However, since I have to cook for supper, I will remember to eat then. Most days, though, that's the only meal I have.
Um, no.
And my weight is a reflection of that.
Oh my gosh I could NEVER forget to eat. All I do is think about food all day.
No, I forget when to STOP eating .... :) that's my problem...
HAHAHA My hubby does that. There was a joke a long time ago we heard on a radio station. All we remember is the punchline
It takes a special kind of stupid to forget to eat.
I am not calling you any names but every time he forgets I just say oh honey it takes.......
Hope the baby is ok.
yup- all the time. I will be running around like a mad woman at work and look at the clock and think "It's 2:30 already? Did I eat today?"
Try to keep snacks that are easy to eat on-the-go in your car and diaper bag so that you are less likely to forget. When they eat, eat something too! I know, easier said than done sometimes, but try.
Yea I only wish I would forget!!! ;)
Oh, I WISH that would happen to me!
This JUST happened to me yesterday! So you are not alone.
I dropped daughter off at preschool, I ran around for work stuff getting supplies and food, then went to a local highschool where I am painting a musical set, picked up my daughter at 12:30 (had lunch at preschool), went home start the was, played with my daughter, put her down for a nap (well an hour quiet time) and at 4pm as I was letting my daughter know she could get up from her quiet time it hit me I had not eaten all day. Knowing it was close to dinner I just ate a few pieces of ham, then started making dinner (which I did eat at 6:30pm). I can not go all day without eating, my body will let me know if it is 6pm and I have had nothing to eat so I never go a whole day but I do forget to eat because there is so much else going on.
Let me put it to you this way. My baby is turning 10 months old this weekend and last week was the first week I ate more than one meal a day sometimes none. Now I'm up to a meal and a snack a day. My baby had colic and she is tempermental as hell. My husband used to get on me about not eating especially when I was a breastfeeding zombie. I coul'de slapped the hell out of him back then. Was I blown out of the water after having a kid or what. No one told me being a mom was so damn hard! How the hell did they do it in the olden times is beyond me.
Yup do it all the time. I get so involved with something that I put off eating. I keep telling myself that I need to eat before I get a migraine and then I start doing something and I put it off. But as for right now I am 7 weeks pregnant and have very bad morning sickness. When I eat I feel like I ate a 12 course meal. So right now I do put it off cause I feel so bad when I do eat. I make sure that my daughter has something to eat but don't make anything for myself. So you are not alone. LOL!!!
When I am busy I can go far longer without eating, but then watch out if you are around me becuase there will be an LBS (low blood sugar) attack. Some crazed monster will have some kind of emotional outburst and it will not be pleasant. This will be of even greater magnitude if there is caffeine involved. I'm serious, lock yourself away and bar the doors because some monster will emerge and tear down the city.
So, no, I don't forget to eat. I try very hard to make sure I eat regularly (breakfast can be skipped if I'm in the office, but that's when the caffeine monster might show it's face, but only if provoked). The really good thing about work, is that for several years now I've had a "big scary male" coworker that can get just as psycho if he needs food, and I get to let him take the blame if we're travelling together - Dave needs to eat, you don't want him skipping any meals.
I'm only slightly making light of the situation. :) Watch your kids, they may get eaten.
Before I had kids, I made fun of people who said they forgot to eat. What?! You freaks, how could forget to eat?!?! LOL!!
Then I had kids......
Yes, I forget to eat. I lecture the kids on how important breakfast is, but will sometimes forget to inlude myself. It's not that I don't think about food- I love food! But, between the time I think, "I'm hungry, I need to grab some lunch/breakfast" and the next crisis/lost shoe/poopy diaper that comes along, I get distracted. I rarely make myself lunch. I usually graze on leftovers my toddler eats and an occasional handful of nuts or carrots. I love to cook and make sit down dinners for my family of 6, so I do get a good dinner in.
My older kids are in lots of activities, so we are on the run, a lot. I will have a box of crackers/nuts or some apples with me almost all the time when we are running around, but by the time I ask for a handful, they're usually gone!! :(
LOL! As much as I LOVE food and think about it a lot, I have forgotten to eat when my life is super crazy. Don't be worried! But, do try to keep small snacks around that are easy to grab so you can keep your energy up. I set myself up the night before. Slice cucumbers or carrots and put them in baggies, almonds, mixed nuts, dried fruit, crackers and cheese...you get the idea!
lol, I wish I would forget to feed myself... Nope, don't do that unfortunately.... I have a friend that does though`
I am going to school and being a single mom. I get up rush him to school, go to class, run errands, go to work, get him and MANY times realize that it's 4:00 and I haven't eaten! I never forgot to eat before I had a child and a busy life. I'm like the other ladies who have responded, I love food, but I get so incredibly busy. I try to keep snacks that I can grab on the go and I am constantly cramming food in while I'm driving to my next obligation or something. Don't get down on yourself, it happens. Do like many have suggested and try to keep easy snacks around to keep your energy up. Good luck!

I am a mom of 2 eating is a thing of the past...lol! Even though I am overweight b/c my metabolism doesn't exist anymore!!! I will get so busy I just forget sometimes for a whole day! It just happens!!!! Your not alone!
Haha! I've definitely done that. In college I was taking 18 hours plus working two jobs. Between classes, work, taking care of two needy cats, and hours of translating and homework I was lucky if food even crossed my mind. Funny thing is, my friends always made fun of me for always having food in my purse... if it wasn't there hanging on me, I'd never eat it!
Its important to eat, even if it takes 15 minutes total, its not a big chunck of your time to take care of yourself. I used to not eat until I got the speech of a lifetime from this guy I dated...its vital and important and doesnt have to take much time, just do it. Get on schedule or routine and plan your day the night before so you are prepared. Get some dry snack/bars to keep in the car so you can eat something even if you dont want to make the time for a sandwich or something.
Didn't read through all the answers, but yup, I forget too! I think I don't forget for a whole day, but I know in high school I did that. I'd actually talk with my friends at lunch Monday and realize I hadn't eaten since Friday. AND!-I've always been overweight. My thyroid problem fixed the forgetting-I was ALWAYS hungry, and I'd feel nauseas if I didn't eat about every hour, and it was like I couldn't stop eating. Then I got on my medication and I feel like I could go all day without eating. I try to remember to eat, but at the same time I know I need to lose all the weight I gained. I've lost 40lbs, but for my health still need to lose at the very least 35lbs. It should be closer to 70 ideally. But now, I'm never really hungry until I start to feel nauseas from not eating, and even then it's not that I'm hungry, it's just that I realize I haven't eaten in a while and I know it will make me feel better. I think it's all just ridiculous. Glad to know I'm not the only one who has forgotten, though!
No, it doesn't happen to me... You must be one of those skinny women to begin with... I'm a full figured large woman...LOL, anyway, I've worked with skinny women who have told me the same thing, without kids too... I'm very busy, but I don't skip a meal by choice... my tummy and mind will always remind me it's time to eat...
I just cannot comprehend the thought of someone forgetting to eat, Really? that's just me though...
YES. All the time, seriously. I'm not a big foodie, at all. I don't think about food...ever. Not because I hate it or have issues, but because I just don't love it. We aren't a food loving household. We are definitely healthy and eat all we need to, but we just don't crave food and looove it, like some. I will eat dinner and realize that's the only thing I've had to eat all day. Or, wake up hungry like you. I have started to make myself eat something, when my son is eating. That's the only thing that makes me remember.
Who does that?! I DO THAT!!! LOL
I do this all the time. I'm shaking because my blood sugar is so low and I will do the same thing- go over my day to try and remember then BAM it hits me, I got everyone else to eat but me.
I started stashing snacks in my purse, at my desk at work and the car (kinda like when I was pregnant and sick all the time lol I was finding old snacks hidden for a few months after I gave birth :)) and it helps in a pinch.
Hope you have a great day and don't forget to eat! LOL
Yes, I forget.. You could not tell if you saw me that I have missed a snack or treat, but yes it happens. I am on medications and have migraines so I really am not supposed to miss at least some healthy snacks, but it happens..
Especially if I am working on an exciting project or job..
Kind of. I'll get really busy and not eat, but then in a few hours, I'm starving and then reach for the first thing I can get my hands on (which is usually junk food). :(
I try to actually plan out my meals for the day so I can make sure that they're clean, and I get them in. Some days are harder than others, for sure!
I get busy, but I never forget, because I tend to get really crabby if I miss a meal. So, sometimes, I get busy, and choose not to, but it's really really rare that I forget! :)
Well, oh well! It looks like I've found a bird of the same flock as I! I had the problem of forgetting to eat for many, many years. It wasn't until about 2 years ago, with going through menopause, that I began a diet when I have to force myself to eat every 2-3 hours. There are many benefits to this type of eating. Instead of suddenly feeling as though I have absolutely no energy (from forgetting to eat), I realized I can make it through an entire day without feeling as though I was going to pass out at some point. Give it a try! Keep power bars in your purse, your glove compartment, and even your jacket pockets. As you're walking or doing all the many things moms do in a day...take a bar out and munch. Interestingly enough, I still cook the huge meals for my family, I still rarely eat what I've cooked, but I make sure I've had enough protein and fluid each and every day. Good luck, R.!
I forget all the time! Probably not for a whole day! But by late afternoon a lot of times I think "I'm starving! Oh, yeah I forgot to eat breakfast!" Ha Ha!
NEVER! I don't think I've ever missed a meal (literally). I was the person in college who had to keep food in my dorm room because I couldn't wait to eat until 11 am on the weekends. If I don't have breakfast within 15 minutes of waking up I'm a wreck. The weird thing is I've always been relatively thin despite this unusual habit of mine.
when they are toddlers and eating actual foods you will eat more often ... more often.
All the time. There is a reason I named my blog Christ Coffee and Knitting needles. I would go days with no food, just caffeine.
i always forget to eat when i am home. i will feed everyone else but myself. I just wish it showed more in my waist line
i forget all the time when i am home which is strange becuz i lovvvveee food its my favorite thing to talk about besides my kids :) and couponing. when i take the kids out i dont forget since i always am prepared and make a sandwich for me too. we just get so busy as moms so many distractions...we are consistently taking care of everyone else we forget about us. gotta take care of mama!
Looking at me you would swear I don't have that problem but I do. I often forget and get ribbed about from my husband and some close friends who know.
I'm not an airhead or forgetful person by any stretch of the imagination. But since having kids that is one of the big things I forget.
Like others I love food and cooking.
oh yeah I do that all the time.
Sometimes eating just takes too much time so I don't
I wish I could forget to eat! I've never had that problem. :)
I do this myself. I am a F/T working mom with a 4 yo and a 6 mo old. I am the worst for skipping meals because I forget. I also NEVER eat breakfast. Most of the time I just take an early lunch. I figured when I get hungry enough, I'll eat (and I do!). :)
I wish! This is how my schedule is in my head: I'll go to work AFTER breakfast, check on my hubs at LUNCH TIME, plan all family events, game night etc after DINNER, and 2 hrs after dinner my thought is should I stay up an extra hour so I can have a SNACK?!!! The rare times I forgot to eat I was ravinous and a roaring B&*%h!! lol. Me??? forget to eat???? I gotta show this to my husband, who says he can set his watch to my meal time regime :)
Yep...especially with our recent, new addition - a puppy....I ensure that everyone else eats, but me. It also happened when our son was a newborn though my body would tell me and then I would eat.
Ha! I wish! I think about food a lot and even when I am super busy I make to find time to eat.
No. I never forget to eat. I might push back a meal by an hour or so, but forgetting it completely? No way.
That happens to me about once a week. Things just get so crazy that I either tell myself I'll eat later (if I think about it) or I just completely space it and realize what's going on when I'm either super hungry or I get a headache. It would probably happen more often if I didn't love food so much. :D
Occasionally I forget to eat lunch. But breakfast and dinner we all eat as a family, so no. DS (5) fell asleep before dinner one day last week (exhausted after a birthday party and museum trip) and boy was he hungry at breakfast time :)
Yes, but not usually for the entire day. I tend to notice around 2 pm that OOPs.. I never ate breakfast and yep.. missed lunch too.
I actually have done (and am about to do again) an eating plan called the "alternate day diet" where you restrict calories on alternate days. And it is pretty easy for me BECAUSE I forget to eat for half the day already. So i just eat something lo-cal for my dinner and call it a day. lol The next morning... I am usually pretty hungry so I eat a breakfast for sure those days.
unfortunately....no.
