D..
I've put ice cream in my coffee, but never milk in my ice cream.
I'd say eww, except that I see Hazel likes it, and if Hazel likes it, it has to be good. Maybe I'll try it...

Ever since I've known my husband, he puts Milk in his Ice Cream. I've never known anyone to do this before.
So, is it a common thing that I didn't know about to put Milk in your Ice Cream? Do you or someone you know?
(Which by the way IS good, he made me try it! lol)
Thanks girls!
I said Ewww too for a long time! But he made me try it awhile back and it's amazing. It makes the ice cream crystal like and a sweet crunch. And then after you eat the ice cream there is a milkshake to drink, its good!
I love making a hot fudge sundae with all the toppings and then pouring the milk over it all. It's simply awesome :)
Ally: Flavored creamer? I am definitely going to have to try that! Think of the flavor possibilities!
Anyone who hasnt tried this SHOULD! :) It is good with whatever type of milk too. We use Lactose Free for my son and I.

I do sometimes with Mint n Chip. I personally like a scoop of vanilla with a little Kaluha over it. My uncle was from Italy and when I was quite young we went to his friends for dinner and she served it for dessert, she didnt even care I was a teenager a young one, It was SOO good, I couldnt wait until I was officially old enough to make it myself!
weird. strange. ew. what's WRONG with him?
okay. it's a little bizarre. but maybe it's okay.
milk. cream. ice creamy milk.
mmmmmmm.
okay. i'm going to try it.

Its how you make a milkshake, minus the blender. =)
Only with cake - my mom would take cake she deemed to be too dry and serve it in a bowl of icecream, and then pour milk over the cake.
Yes, I have family members who do that.....Personally I like my ice cream with lots of hot fudge :)
I put flavored creamer in my ice cream. Try it, you'll like it!
*My favs are Bailey's Creamer and Almond Joy over vanilla (not the 2 creamers together), and Peppermint Mocha over the holidays. Its about 1000 calories a bite.
*I also put Oreos in a bowl and pour milk over it, letting it get mushy and then I eat it like cereal. I know its gross and unhealthy, even if I use organic milk lol but it is one of my guilty pleasures which is why I work out as much as I can!
We don't do this.
But if my husband gets a piece of cake (or brownie) and he feels it's dry, he'll put it in a bowl and pour some milk on it, then eat it.
Nope, but I put milk on my cake, brownies, and cookies. It's my husband's family tradition - which I slurped into by choice.
I'm not a big ice cream fan...but if I were, I'd probably put milk on it too :-)
Never tried ice cream that way...but I will. I know someone who puts cornbread in a glass and pours milk in it...mixes it all up and then drinks it. He are from St. Louis...maybe it's a Middle American thing.
I have only had it as kind of a shake. And sometimes it includes chipped ice, too.
Have you tried milk and orange sherbert? Or vanilla ice cream and a little orange juice? It's basically a drinkable creamsicle.
I used to do this when I was little. especially over chocolate. I love the ice crystals that form..
My Mom does this. I do too. It tastes better to me than without milk and cuts the cold of the ice cream a bit - enough that it doesn't hurt my teeth.
Is your husband originally from the South, by any chance?
I do if I am making a shake.
I don't, but I remember in high school, my boyfriend made a shake in the blender with an ice cream that had nuts in it and my brain just about short circuited! "you can't do THAT!"
Then I got a grip on myself and realized that there may be A LOT of ways that people do stuff that I was never introduced to by MY family.
Your question reminded me of that scenario. :)
I did, back when I could have milk... and ice cream. delish.
I don't but I do let it melt a little before I eat it.
My hubby does it...it makes it more like a milkshake! It's pretty good!
I'm not really an ice cream eater, but I have poured red wine and fruit juices over vanilla ice cream (not together, of course). Not milk.
half n half or whipping cream is the best!!!!!
is he trying to make it a milkshake?@!?@!?@?
I have never heard of anyone doing that before. But, I like to mash it up with my spoon and eat it when it gets softer, lol!
I eat chocolate ice cream with milk in it almost EVERY night! I love it!
Yep...I do it too. In fact, I never eat ice cream unless there is milk or diet pepsi poured on top! Have been doing it for years :)
I do! Glad I'm not alone in this one :)
I also LOVE milk on Blueberry pie!
My sister's future ex husband does this ... he says it's a "Southern thing" I think it is a silly thing!
I like Kaluah on vanilla ice cream or fro yo!
Ice cream is made by whipping, putting air in, the cream and other ingredients to a certain consistency. Some people don't like ice cream all fluffy and whipped. If you see kids playing in their ice cream this is most likely why. The like the ice cream more like soft serve with a lot of the air bubbles out of it.
I stir my ice cream until it's almost runny before I like it. I really had no use for ice cream for a very long time. I just didn't like it. Then I learned why I didn't like it. I had always found my self stirring it until it was a melted heap. It just didn't taste good to me. I think it was Alton Brown who did an episode on ice cream.
Pouring milk over ice cream just changes it to a bit of a different consistency. I imagine it tastes good to him that way.
My husband's favorite treat! It does taste good and makes awesome little ice chunks in the ice cream. He likes it with more milk than I do - I like it really thick. It reminds me of when I was little and my dad had this cool hershey's shaker cup. He would put ice cream, chocolate sauce, and milk in it and shake it up to make milkshakes. Yum!
Yes! I've been doing this since I was a child. Don't remember how it started.
It's not a lot of milk, not like you'd put in if you are making a shake. Just enough to make the ice chips form.
I love the sweet ice chips and how they crunch!
If I were not so tired, I would be heading to the freezer right now!
