Yes it all counts to screen time.
I like the media time term used below as well. NOw I do some of the physical stuff on the wii and I don't count that against my teen. THe two year old can't do them yet, so it all counts.
I'm trying to minimize the TV time and the computer game time. But I think I know the answer, I just need to hear it. Do you count your child's DS Nintendo time as part of the same "TV time"? thx

yes "screen time"
Although I think WHAT they are doing/watching is as important as HOW MUCH.
Yes. Another vote for 'Screen Time'.
Yes, we lump all the electronics stuff together. I limit the DS to 30 minutes a day but our son rarely gets to play during the school week. We are just too busy. He complains that his friends get to play as long as they want. Oh well. Mean ol' mom! :)
No, but he is not quite 4. I think when he is older I will.
Yes. We count media time, period.
The children I nanny for get 1/2 hour of screen time per day. screen time consists of video games, computer, tv, movies etc. anything with a screen half hour total.
My boys don't have a DS, but we lump all electronics together. My oldest has an itouch, and that counts the same as the computer/video games/TV. Our boys are 7 and 13, and they get 30 minutes on school nights unless they're on the computer for homework. We don't limit them as much on the weekends, but we're usually doing family things on the weekends so they don't live on the computer then either. Good luck! :)
We call it electronics time whether it's tv, computer, wii, ds etc. We only do computer and some tv now. Want to buys a dsi or wii?
Yes, we had to start calling it screen time to avoid the debates and bargaining that would inevitably start up with my son. We tried different variations but it was too complicated. Now it's no screens of any kind during the week. On Saturdays we let him have an hour on wii and usually watch a movie together. Sundays vary but we cut him some slack. Weekdays it's no go. Zero time on weekdays has just been easier and I don't have to go through the pleading for 'just five more minutes."
Yes. My son uses the computer, so it counts as "screen time" .
I like the idea of giving them "screen time" and letting THEM decide how/if they want to divide it up among their computer, TV and game screens
(legitamate schoolwork on the computer that you're supervising doesn't count though)
